Lingfield Park Golf Club

The course wasn’t open. There were no staff. No flags in holes. Shouldn’t have been allowed to book if the course was not going to be attended.

Course not in good condition which was understandable given the weather . Some great holes to play though and worth a visit when conditions improve

The welcome was very friendly but perhaps better wait until drier times.

Unfortunately, it seemed that they had missed the opportunity to mow in drier times so the fairways were muddy and with high grass. The first 9 was sort of OK given time of year but the second 9 was really an unacceptable muddy field. I lost three balls on second 9 - all on the fairway!

You have to play this course!!! It’s right on a horse race course and the holes have character. The only reason I gave a 3 star on course conditions is that the fairways on many holes were really quite thick (more like what I am used to for rough) which made what should have been nice shots a bit tricker. Having said that the greens were lovely and everything else was great. Wonderful course which you have to play, we’ll be back. P

Course was almost unplayable due to heavy rain in the preceeding 24hrs. So much surface water that balls were plugging deep even in the middle of the fairways. The staff told us they hadn't even been out to check the course's condition and we didn't tee off until 11. Waded through the mud for 13 holes and gave up. Usually a good course but will be giving it a miss until the spring.

My wife and I played this course which could only be described as poor condition.

The grass on fairways was pretty much non existent and yet there was a green keeper mowing the mud.

The course was very muddy even though the greens were in fairly good condition.

The surface on fairways had been scuffed a lot by the mower.

I felt it was in poor condition considering the cost!

Enjoyable day in the sunshine despite some poor golf. Course in excellent condition (greens 10+) credit to the staff..

Lots of players out so pace was a tad slow on times but evened out towards the end..

An interesting course and more difficult than it appears. October is not an ideal time to play this course as it is on pretty heavy clay. So no run on the ball which makes the course even more difficult despite preferred lies. Great views down the racetrack before playing the holes on the other side. Disappointing last 3 holes and even more disappointing clubhouse facilities when I finished at 1730. Couldn’t find a clubhouse as such and pro shop closed. Post round drink eventually found in the hotel bar. Nevertheless, I’d play here again but probably not after August. Took ages to partially clean my trolley with the yard broom which was the only facility available.

We were very pleasantly surprised to find this course in very good condition after all the rain- I phoned to check if the course was open! A nice layout with some challenging holes - a couple required some local knowledge but all in all it was fun - i did use every club in my bag which to me is a good test of a course.

Excellent course, in very good condition , not easy but enjoyable…..set amongst trees with thick undergrowth, therefore, you have to play very straight. The greens are in great condition and very testing……

Lots of variation with very natural surroundings

I am sorry to say my number plates were stolen whilst I was playing golf so please be aware and park close to the hedge if possible.
