Millionaires golf
What a great course.
Well maintained a pure pleasure from start to finish.
Definitely be back
New partners
Was teamed up with 2 lads from Leicester who had not played the course before we all had a great day the course was in great condition the recent rain had done wonders for the course the greens were true and slick i always like to play this course when down here on a break and if you use the golf now site you could get a good deal we only paid £ 12.00 each great value for a very good course
Great challenge of golf
Lovely course in good condition and great value for money. Highly recommended.
great course
played with my son lovely course guy in shop friendly, other player friendly , this course is worth a visit
Very impressive course
We really enjoyed playing Louth GC today. The course was tough in places but certainly fair with opportunities to rectify mistakes. The 2nd and 12th were our favourite holes. Highly recommended!
Expected better, and tried to make us play with strangers?
Booked this course as a 2 ball, as this was the only option on Golf Now. Assuming the course only allowed couples to play due to social distancing and COVID restrictions. Only to be told we would need to join with another pair when we arrived at the course. Not being funny, but I’ve spent the last 5 months being careful and avoiding family and friends due to health issues, and now the course wanted me to play with strangers?
Which would have meant wearing a face mask for the whole round, as I wouldn’t have felt comfortable.
After some discussion with the course and them blaming Golf Now for not making the booking clear, we were allowed to play as a pair. This wasn’t the best start to my first round of the year after lockdown, as if I’d have known, I could have invited another pair of friends to play with us!!? Course was OK, expected better greens, especially after such a long period of lockdown. Dry, patchy, slow and not very true - the groundkeepers should have been the busiest members of staff during lockdown but I guess they had to furlough them?
Louth
Very challenging course with lots of slopes greens scarified so slightly bumpy and some bare patches round greens not played there for 5 years and loved it
Very friendly staff and members will be coming back soon
Louth Golf Club
First time we’ve played Louth, course was in good condition, thought the fairways could of done with a cut on a few holes, greens I thought played slow & the course is tough, a lot of blind tee shots & blind shots into the greens, which for the first time playing the course made it a little more difficult. I would like to play the course in the summer once the fairways & greens have dried up. We will be returning as we left a lot of shots on the course today that I think we can get back on a second visit. Would recommend, keep it on the fairways from the tee & you can really attack the course.
Very wet
Would definitely play again but in the summer months. Spent a lot of time looking for balls either plugged or covered in mud. Took ages to find some balls which which were piped down the middle of the fairway which meant it was well over 4 hours for a 4 ball. Good layout and they even made us a coffee because they had no change for the machine. Very friendly and nice layout so will review properly in the summer months.
Louth Golf Club Review
The course is quite challenging. It rained on the day we played and it had rained quite heavily during the previous week. Consequently the course was extremely wet underfoot.
The course is extremely hilly and, because of the wet weather, walking around the course was quite hard work.
The greens and fairways were in good condition given the weather. The greens played slow but again this is probably due to the weather.
I would be reluctant to play the course again in the winter but would be happy to return again in the summer months.
We got a deal from Golfnow and only paid ten pounds for the round. At this price it is extremely good value. Overall I enjoyed my game at Louth!
Beautiful views and well maintained
Very quiet day when we played, few other golfer on the course all very friendly. Having had a lot of rain in previous week or so the course was a little damp and greens very receptive as a result so bring pitch mark repairer!
The course itself is very hilly and there are a lot of challenges not seen elsewhere, blind tee shots and greens but well marked with posts/crosses etc and all tee boxes have hole map which is very useful.
One thing could be improved the layout is occasionally not obvious and although there is signage it is a dark green and set amongst all the trees not always the easiest to spot, but this is very minor and never takes too king to work out next step!
Overall really enjoyable round of golf stunning views throughout!
Mansfield Boys
Good course Overall a little wet due to weekend rainfall. Fairways, grass a bit too long but probably not cut due to being so wet
Nice layout
Disappointed we could not get any hot breakfast arrived at 10:05 playing at 11:00 - could only have breakfast if you pre ordered which we wasn’t aware of.
Greens ok for time of year but on previous visits have always been better and faster
Course in poor condition and we stopped after 9 holes.
I’ve played Louth several times and it’s gradually worsening each time. A shame, as the layout and variation of holes is appealing.
The length of the grass around the course was very unexpected. Fairways like semi rough, semi rough like rough and so on. The tee box conditions were the worst I’ve ever played on and the greens absolutely saturated. I live locally so am aware of the relative amount of rain we’ve had but couldn’t believe how wet there were. Actually surprised they were being allowed to play on.
A real shame as being a member elsewhere I like to play Louth to mix it up but won’t be back anytime soon.
Classic parkland course on the Lincolnshire Wolds
The course was a classic parkland style, on the rolling countryside which is the Lincolnshire Wolds. The course was in reasonable condition after overnight rain and greens were true and perhaps surprisingly pacy. Fairways and the rough though were in need of a good trim and seemed generally too woolly for late July. There were a couple of holes where tees and adjacent greens were too close for comfort. Buggy tracks were in evidence on parts of the course but not throughout which lead to a few confusing moments. Overall an enjoyable course but not one of the better ones in the area.
