Excellent value for money, one of the best courses in the North West for price

First time at Malkins bank and it was spot on. Will definitely be playing again. Some really tricky holes especially for a returning golfer such as myself. Pace of play was ok considering it was a Saturday dinner time tee off. Facilities were excellent. Great round overall.

I have played this course numerous times in last 25 years and don't think I can remember it in such good condition. Fairways are slightly fluffy, bunkers well sanded and many of the old rough spots ironed out. We did find the greens very slow I have to say, and the seepage of liquid across the 15th. fairway is something that really needs sorting. The club-house was closed and refreshments available from the Pro shop. The 4th. hole remains a real test, how do you keep the ball on the fairway, even if you hit it right down the middle? May as well add a couple of strokes to your score card even before you get on the tee!

Played this course for first time yesterday. Arrived on the course, absolutely amazing experience start to finish. Booked on the GolfNow HotDeal and couldn’t believe what I got for the money...

Super friendly and positive staff - you can see how much they love what they do. Perfect bacon butty, good selection of drinks, ice cream etc in the shop,

Great facilities with a driving range & putting green for a warm up and a net too.

Challenging course, but very playable... but a ball off line is might be in the rough or under the trees but rarely lost or in an impossible position needing a drop. Course in BRILLIANT condition on all 18 holes; tees, greens, fairways.

Will definitely return again in future!!

Good course , variation of holes was ok

Pace of play was poor , I was behind the last three ball of a seniors club match ,not their fault but a massive knock on affect behind them .

Perhaps in future the club should reserve three tee off slots after the last ones go out

I know slots are money but I won’t be going back after that round

Play it again but not on a Sunday mid week possibly.

We used to play here a lot in the old day (20 years or more ago). It was always ok but they've really improved the course conditions now, it's a pleasure the play at with good greens and many lovely laid out holes. The fairway grass was too long this time (my 2nd visit here since coming back to golf after a 20 year break), but I think the sudden hot weather after 3 weeks of rain had caught them off guard a little and they were out sorting that, so no big deal.

I'm actually thinking of joining, it has enough to keep me interested and every hole feels distinctly different.

I played this course yesterday & was not impressed. With the virus break & the weather we have had the greens should be in a lot better condition. They were very rutted & looked like nobody repairs their pitch marks. The fairway weren't cut nicely either, neither the Tee boxes.

It's a very up & down course & not very undulating, just flat & boring. If you have the choice, I'd give it a miss.

Played 18 late morning, weather was fair but course was very wet in places from the frequent rainfall in the previous week.

The greens were in good condition, the tee boxes were average at best, with some temporary tees not even mown.

Unbelievably buggies we’re allowed on the course and had carved up some fairways.

The greens were mainly roped off to stop trolleys but why buggies were allowed out is baffling.

Malkins for an ex municipal course is on the whole very good with some challenging holes.

It can sometimes be slow especially at weekends, and 8 minute gaps between tee times isn’t enough in my opinion.

There was obviously an oversight allowing people to use buggies the day I played.

I’d recommend the club purely because it’s a good round of golf when the course is in good condition. And at roughly £15 a round at week-end value for money.

Been coming to malkins now for 6 years for a tournament once a year with the lads. Having come last, last year I decided to do a pre tournament practice round with my dad this weekend.

As always well looked after from the staff in the club house, the bar and the half way house on hole 10 where we were gagging for a drink and a sausage role as it is was so hot! Challenging course (especially the front 5) loved every minute of it. Would highly recommend.
