Another super round of golf
Second time playing at Marple and this round was even better than the 1st time. Course was in really nice condition, weather was perfect and the location really good.
This course is challenging enough for mid handicappers and beginners.
Stunning September day in marple ..
Arrived late .. worried about tee time slot being missed and unable to play .. however instantly put at ease by the pro in club shop .. really friendly .. which continued out on course .. great course in great nick .. all helped by an unbelievable lovely late September day .. windless .. bright sunshine .. all for 10 quid ..
absolute bargain however I played terribly ..
Pound for pound the best course I have played .. no wonder it’s been around for 100 plus years .. keep up the good work ..
Great day out and back.
Jamie, the pro shop owner manager could not have been more accommodating.
Friendly greetings and when we booked in and found that I had booked for the following week, and expected to be turned way, Jamie went out of his way to squeeze us into quite a full field. 10 /10.
The course was in tip top condition considering the recent weather and we enjoyed our round. Will definitely visit again.
Long par 4’s but fair.
Thanks Marple GC.
Cheers

Rough too long
Course was in good condition. Only gripe we had has been shared by others, the fairways where very tight and off fairway grass was much too long. Spent lots of time trying to find balls on slightly wayward shots
Wet
Course very wet in places. Fairways not short enough to allow ball to run.Semi Rough too deep, hard to find ball. Most greens ok, one or two very wet.
A very pleasant round
The course is situated along quite a narrow country road with a few tight bends. Go slowly and be prepared to use the passing places.
The pro was very friendly and helpful. All of members or other players on the course were polite and courteous and whilst this was not the fastest round of golf the pace was steady. The course was busy but you never felt you were waiting a long time to play your next shot.
Considering the rain we have had the course was in good condition. A little soft along the edges of some holes where the ball easily plugs. Greens were in good condition and flag placement was fair.
We will definitely return as the course is challenging enough for low handicap but a nice course for a relative beginner which my step son is. He loved the course as he was very rarely in trouble despite being a little wayward.
Lovely course to improve your handicap on
I've played here twice now and am about to book a third round. It's a nice course, very flat, good greens and fairways, rough is playable, not too difficult and has a good variety of holes. Definitely one you can score well on if you're accurate off the tee. Some of the tee shots cross other holes which is a bit confusing for a first round, but once you've played once it's not a problem. A bit of a hidden gem and I really enjoy playing here.
unmissable
This is without doubt one of the best courses
in the area.
I love everything about this course apart from
the very difficult and long last par three.
Friendly club and great track
First time at Marple. Friendly welcome and members. The course is in lovely condition and has great views over Manchester.
Due to user error I had mad a mistake and charged for a round the previous day. The club pro without prompting immediately offered us a another complimentary game. Very generous and we will be back this afternoon for a second visit.
Friendly Staff but Average Course
I couldn't fault the welcome at the Pro's shop but it was soon clear that the course was not particularly inspiring. The main problem is the ridiculous number of trees choking the life out of the routing. There is literally no strategy other than to avoid the trees. So sad.
Even worse, it is bloody dangerous! Holes criss-crossing with no line of sight from one fairway to another because of the foliage.
Conditioning is okay and I guess it's worth crossing off your list at twenty quid. I'm sure the members love it, though!
Our local
Lovely course, well maintained. Really happy to play this course again and again. Very helpful and welcoming. Gets a bit waterlogged in places after heavy rain.
Great condition
Shorter than average course but different holes and in great condition. Always enjoy a round here. Recommended.
