Phew Drought
Greens were good but a little slower than my previous visit. The strategic ditches had no water in them due to the low rainfall of late, all the better for retrieving my ball. All in all a most enkoyable day.
A good days play
Course is in excellent condition and very challenging. Really enjoyed playing here and will certainly get another round here in again soon.
Only downfall - no toilets until hole 10 and nothing else open on site so be aware. It would be good if they could at least offer a coffee after you’ve had a round of 18.
Friendly welcome. Course was in good condition, offered a challenge.
My son and I enjoyed a v pleasant few hours.
Great layout
Course and greens in particular in top class condition
A covid round of golf
Nice to get out and play golf with a few friends for the first time in a long time. Even though most amenities at the hotel/course were shut, the pro was there to welcome you, which was a nice touch. The course was in excellent condition and the speed of play good, even though they strong winds made it a bit of a challenge! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return soon.
Beginner at golf
Lovely course, hope to play here more as I learn the game. It was a little too busy for me yesterday to focus on practicing skills learned on the driving range. I only gave a one star rating for the off course amenities simply because they are 95% closed due to being Covid-safe
Great afternoon
Had a round yesterday with my brother, course was in lovely condition, the pro was a lovely guy, very welcoming and helpful, would highly recommend the course, a big thank you for the green keepers, keep up the good work
Marlon
The course in great nick. Enjoyed it first time on course only gripe tee markings but overall great course.
Very Good
Given that everything is quite restricted, the pro shop made an effort to offer the essentials whilst still social distancing. The gentleman in the pro-shop was incredibly helpful and friendly and a real testament to the course.
Guy in the club shop had said the course was in good nick and he wasn't lying.
1 Green had a couple of bare patches but was still good. The other 17 were all very good. Tee boxes has some worn patches which he asked is to avoid but the remainder of the box was lovely. Fairways were good. Even the bunkers were passable/playable.
For the money, you really can't go wrong.
Leave it a bit
Played here a few times and great course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in good and very playable condition.
Pro shop closed so nowhere to really check in and no scorecards. Tee box markers missing and hole details hard to find. Rough a little long if you go offline and unfortunately overpriced at £35pp.
I'd leave it a bit as usually no problems at The Cambridgeshire GC.
Great course
An amazing course, one of the best in the area. Perfect for all levels of players. Can’t wait to play again.
Well maintained course
Good fast greens.
Not over busy.
Very pleasant staff.
Bar Hill
If you want a challenging course then Bar hill is the place. Great greens and long wide fairways. Good course overall;l
Disappointed
I have played this course a few times and really enjoyed it, not this time. The pace of play was unbelievably slow, this was due to members jumping in between holes and causing a back log. This happened twice and the course was already busy, as members they should have known better but didn’t seem to care. Also they need to do more about the leaves, made it very difficult to see your ball. My son lives in Manchester, where even public courses have someone out clearing leaves, this time of year. Not hard to organise.
Very good greens and tees
Great greens. Good tees. Nice river that makes a few of the holes tougher. Fairways not in great shape. But overall a pleasant golf experience. Thanks
Walked off on 10th
To Be fair, roadworks delayed some teeing off times, so a little backlog but after 3hrs and just finishing ninth hole was not going to do another 3 hours
Painfully slow
3 hours to play 9 holes! Ridiculous, walked in after nine only to find the bar even slower. No staff. Couldn’t even get a pint! Absolute waste of a Saturday afternoon.
