Tight course, you’ll need to stay straight
Played the course today, having booked through TeeTimes, was surprised how busy the course was given the times on offer. Play was really slow, 7 groups covering two holes, which did somewhat impact the enjoyment.
Having said that, if you’re a 4 ball with time to kill, the course is in good condition, nice fairways and greens, although bunkers a little ropey. Good variety of holes that require you to think through your shots and placement.
A bit dull
2 or 3 good golf holes but the remainder are flat and uninteresting.
good golf course + staff were very godd
I played the course on a great day blue sky.
All all were good with long par-4 and 5
It was not easy to play you needed to think on
distance shots to green
After completing my game I went to hotel bar and
a great beefburger and chips , that was made to a
very high stander and will visit again
The course could be significantly better.
Greens were very slow; need a closer cut and ironing. Almost every hole was damaged by the pin not being correctly located in its housing; the club members should be made aware of their responsibilities in respect of course etiquette. Fairways were in an acceptable condition for the time of year. Bunkers acceptable. The requirement for registering car park use should be made much more prominent to obviate the embarrassment of a parking fine that can only be recovered by providing proof of Golf course booking. o
The cost includes £5 winter trolley hire. This course is very convenient if you live in North Cambridge. I have played this course several times and it is always an enjoyable experience. The course was understandably wet but proper greens were in play. There were just 2 or 3 holes where you had to tee off on a mat to save the tee box
Good Value for Money but.....
I've played this course and number of times before and always enjoyed the experience. Took two "first timers" last week and had a mixed round.
Value for money with Teeoff Times was very good but on arrival on a dry Autumn day, we were told that we had to have winter wheels (hedgehogs) on our trolling which none of had. We're all in our 60's and all have electric trollers. These were not allowed but we were offered and had to accept loan pull trollies free of charge. We asked about buggies, but these were now off the request list for winter!
Apart from this, the course was in pretty good condition and quite dry! We did suffer from lost balls in the fallen leaves but this us a hazard of this time of year.
Won't be rushing back though.
The course was in great condition
The course was in great condition. The fairways where very good , probaby the best I have seen them up there. Greens were OK a few pitch marks here and there . Pace of play was slow so we played front 9 twice so that we got round
A good day of golf
A very good course first time did not know what to expect was not disappointed the course was in good condition despite the rain the night before the rough was not to severe you have to wach out for the diches on some fairways.the fairways are tree lined will definitely be going back
Nice course to play
A great course to play when your passing, the grass was very good, watch out for the ditch running across some fairways, It gave me my first hole in one on the 8th hole 178 yards so it will always be a memorable game, a little slow play by some ladies not letting people through, which could be an issue on a busy day, other wise we will go back, a little noisy from the A14
Hallmark Cambridge GC
Nice course, well placed Bunkers with plenty of Sand.
Only downside as it's a hotel golf course some players leave bunkers unraked and don't repair divots.
But it was a lovely run out early on Sunday, green keepers where out to cut the greens on a Sunday aswell, highly impressive
Nice Course
Easy to get to, nice course layout and enjoyable to play. The only negative is the noise from the A14 other than that it was great. We whizzed round.
Great condition
Course was in great condition and was a joy to play on. It's a shame the golf bar was closed.
Lovely Course
Easily booked on line the night before. The course was in excellent condition and was virtually empty leading to a great morning's golf.
Bar Hill
Great course for the price we paid. A good challenge for any level of golfer, wide fairways on lots of holes allows you to open the shoulders with the driver. Be careful though as a couple of ditches go across the fairway on a couple of holes so check your yardages. Great views over Cambridge from the top of the course.
Average hotel course
Pace of play good on a Sunday. Allowed to tee off early at 11.15 instead of 12.15 course in reasonable condition and as a hotel course reasonable. Lay out a bit up and down with too many ditches! For me
Over all recommend for w/e away
A fair test of golf for all standard of players
Enjoyed a midweek round of golf with 2 other friends,. Course was quiet and in good condition with a number of helpful friendly green keepers and staff on hand. Will certainly play again, especially at the price we paid.
Only downside is that the prices in bar are quite expensive, which probably accounted for not many people being in it.
