A warm Welcombe
We have played this course several times over the years and it nxver fails to impress. Set amongst the rolling Welcombe hills overlooking Stratford and with far distant views of Warwick. The course is very well kept with very consistent greens. The layout offers a good challenge for us high handicappers without setting out to destroy our fragile game. Highlights are the 8th offering a wonderful elevated tee and the 17th set in front of the hotel with its long challenging drive over water. Facilities are very good as was the tasty sausage batches sampled before tee off. Staff were helpful and friendly. All in all a great day at a great price
Exceptional... apart from the golf
After hitting a picture perfect drive onto the 1st fairway, I thought I was well in. The course was immaculate and tidy. The sun was out but the wind was up. Unfortunately that's where my good golf stopped.
The course and greens in particular were in excellent condition. The views of the countryside are wonderful, especially from some of the elevated tees. Beware the wind plays a massive part in shot selection and club length.
Lovely sunny day at welcome
Great course warm friendly people , course really well. Kept , greens great .
Welcombing Welcombe
A course I've wanted to play for a long time, and I wasn't disappointed. The Pro in the shop was extremely friendly and helpful as was the course marshal.
The course was in reasonable condition for the end of the winter season, and no doubt will be improved greatly with a summer cut to the fairways and the greens. The layout is good with lots of on course info and thought into making it as enjoyable as possible.
The club house and pro shop are both appealing and welcoming. The prices for drinks are to be expected for a 4 star hotel however the prices of food on the Winter menu seemed very reasonable.
I would highly reccomend visiting for a round of golf, or even uptaking one of the golf packages.
Weekend golf at its best
Played with a friend who had not played this course before.
An absolute pleasure.
Great condition for the time of year.
On arrival found all the staff very welcoming & friendly, on playing this course on February 16th found the course a good challenge & very scenic would certainly recommend , myself & my 3 guests look forward to playing this course again.
Good Challenge
Arrived early and received free tokens for some range balls, pace of play was good (last people out). Very challenging course and great views, fast greens! Would come again if the price on tee off times remains decent
Great course played in good weather conditions
The corse was empty from 9:30 till 11:00 when the prices start to drop, then just a constant que at every tee, the breakfast menu was shocking, no full breakfast available, the best you could get was a bacon and sausage bap for £4:50 that just had 1 small sausage cut in half and 1 rasher of bacon, never enough to get you round 18 holes, staff friendly as ever, but need to review marketing times & food menu
Icy golf
Not many courses fully open this day so pleased to be able to get on here at 1230. Pace was slow although id initially put this down to early morning fog that halted play till mid morning. Some greens were icy but all open and most tees too. Couple of what looked like society 4 balls were very slow not letting groups ahead through and 2 lots behind them walked off after the 15th which helped us but still played the last hole in the dark/ fog. Might be worth a course marshall to keep things moving and I did mention to a lad in a buggy who'd sold some food about the slow play. Other than that good value and course held up very well under the conditions and all credit for keeping it open . Hopefully be back soon

All around Good.
The course is not long but there is sometimes a distance from green to tee.
up and down enough to consider a buggy especially on the back 9.
challanging course with excellent greens
A good course but with a fair few hills and walks between tees. Not very long off the white tees and water only comes into play on a couple of holes. Hole 16 is certainly a feature par 5 hole climbing up to the manor house to a three tier green.
Great golf course but a little scruffy!
This is and has obviously been a very good golf course. However, I found many things to be a little neglected and scruffy around the edges! Many bunker rakes were in very poor condition, the grass was very long on the tees and fairways, there were numerous divots and holes in the tees and a big pot hole when leaving the club.
