it's wet today ^_^ Photo submitted by u8620379 on 11/17/2016
Don't bother
We played here earlier in the year and the course was quire waterlogged. Liked the layout of the course so decided to give it a try in the better weather. Played today. Sadly didn't read the previous reviews. They are all right.
Tee boxes full of weeds any grass there is long. Hard to tell where the fairways start. Some are like Hayfields. Difficult to find your ball because of the long grass and cuttings that have been left everywhere. Greens are dry cracked and patchy. Ball goes all over the place. Bunkers are full of weeds and very little sand. Bins overflowing. Pathways very overgrown
It could be a great course but sadly lack of care it is very neglected.
The holes closer to the clubhouse are slightly better.
Don't think we'll be returning.
Avoid
Save your money everyone. Awful condition this course. Greens are bobbly and not watered. Fairways not cut properly, so they are almost the first cut of rough. Tee boxes awful. Not prepared.
My suspicion on this course is either they have no money or the land has been sold, as there has been no maintenance.
Please do not play this course
Crap
This course should not be open, I think this is just taking money from each player,
Fairways the same as the rough, by 6 holes we had lost 5 balls and there where on the fairway. the bunkers are a joke, weeds more weeds in them.. but what hurt me more, they put racks in them THERE WAS no SAND. Please don't go, save your money.. big shame use to be a great golf course, after looking into it, it’s been sold.. so not going to get back to its old self..
Also the website does not say a thing about it…poor poor.
The owners should be ashamed..
Good course ruined by neglect !
Terribly disappointing experience. The course could be great; long fairways, quite testing, scenic and varied. However it is cheap for a reason. The grass around peripheral areas is very overgrown ; and sadly the same is true for the fairways. I lost at least five balls hitting the ball straight up the fairway; the grass is so long you are playing your second shot from long grass even in the middle. Just neglect. Fairways aren't being mown. Complete waste of time; tore my card up after five holes. And it could be so good. No staff in clubhouse - no food available, The pace of play was awful. Only a few groups on the course. In front of us we had a pair sharing one golf bag, and in front of them a three ball. They clearly knew each other, and didn't mind a five hour round. Clearly never occurred to them to ask players through.(Clubhouse closed when we finished about 6.30pm. Crap experience.
ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!
I’ve been playing golf for over 30 years now and in its present state, this is by far THE WORST “golf course” I have ever played. Turned up on a lovely bright Sunday morning having paid the £25 green fee via GolfNow and for that, we wasn’t expecting it to be hosting the next PGA tour event anytime soon but what we found was almost comical! “Fairways” with grass upto your ankles, “greens” that hadn’t seen a mower in weeks/months and “bunkers” without a grain of sand between them. The place is basically a massive field with 18 flags stuck in it.
Apparently the course is due to close towards the end of this year having been bought by a recycling/waste company but it should be closed immediately as it’s no longer a golf course and anyone profiting from taking people’s hard earned money to play here at the moment is no more than a charlatan.
We “played” 6 holes and lost about 10 balls between 4 of us - mainly on the “fairways” so decided to call it a day. The majority of golfers ahead of us had given up after 3 or 4. Asked for a refund in the “club shop” but got some nonsense story about about the recent wet weather had meant the mowers couldn’t get out these last couple of weeks and we could play for “free” next time if we come. It’ll take more than a mow to bring this back in to play however, it’s finished.
I’m amazed GolfNow still have it as a course on their site as it’s nothing more than a scam accepting money in its present form. This was once a lovely place to play a round and it’s a shame it’s closing but for the love of god, just close it now- don’t rob people.
Shame
The course is in an awful condition. Fairways non existent, bunkers in an awful state, huge puddles everywhere. A real slog to get round. Assume it is being run into the ground.
Course Needs Serious TLC
Overall this could be a brilliant course - but unfortunately it needs some serious care and attention. I appreciate we are just out the back end of winter - but the fairways and rough were simply the same - and the bunkers well … Less said the better they’re nothing like I’ve seen before. Front 9 is very boggy but back 9 was surprisingly much better than the front. It has good elements but wish it was maintained that bit better.
Sad Times
Was a member here when first opened used to be an amazing well looked after course unfortunately been bought out by many companies now and the current investors not able to fund any improvement so course in my opinion is finished always empty meaning no funds coming in . Snowball effect that will never end ! SHAME :-(
Horribly kept course
Terrible course
You can lose your ball in the fairway
Hard to tell when the fairway starts it’s that bad and the green don’t roll well at all, they look untreated and poorly kept. The course has a great layout but just don’t look like they look after it. Poor course in general
Do not waste your money.
I appreciate there has been a lot of rain but this course is an absolute joke. The fairways are yes very boggy but you don't know if your in the rough or on the fairway they're that bad. All the greens are rotten and haven't had any work on them for two years I'm informed. The bunkers huh they are pathetic. I URGE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE.. It's a shame because it used to be a good course.
Waterlogged
Un playable weather conditions course should of been ckosed
Do not play
Horrendous condition, so overgrown I lost a ball in the middle of the fairway
Terrible condition
Overgrown in the extreme. Lost multiple balls that were hit straight amongst the long grass and dandelions. Big shame as the overall lay out could be interesting but I woul not recommend at all in it's current state.....
