North Manchester
The course was in excellent condition. Great value for money considering other local courses. The only complaint being that the bar was closed.
Nice but but very slow round
First time playing North Manchester this year and the course was in good condition.
Our round was slightly ruined by a four ball who thought they were in the British Open, they were taking so long on the greens. Eventually we had to skip a few holes to get ahead of them or would have been looking at a 5-6 hour round. For the final 5 holes we got stuck behind a 6 ball!!!
There are a lot of rude golfers around who don't seem to know the rules about letting faster groups through, even when the course wasn't busy. This isn't a criticism of the North Manchester, as have encountered this issue a lot at other courses as well recently.
golf@north manchester
despite the very wet weather on the day the course was in excellent condition enjoyed the day would play again
Long par foursl
Very good course with good views across Manchester.
The par fours need a good whack with the driver and then still have long iron or rescue wood to the green.
A good challenge.
Nice Course
It's a nice course with great views. The condition of the course is above average, the grass and the greens are nice. The layout is really challenging on some holes with unexpected traps, if you play this course for the 1st time, it would be challenging since you don't know what the layout of that hole is, therefore this course should make a Yardage Book for visitors.
North Manchester Golf Club
3 of us played on the Tuesday after the bank holiday. The course was fairly quiet probably because of the threat of rain and with it being the day after the Bank Holiday. We actually got away quite well with the weather one or two small drizzles for a couple of minutes and that was it. Given the amount of rain that had fallen in the previous few days the course and greens had held up particularly well. It was an interesting course and as much a challenge on the legs as it was on our golfing ability. The are some lovely holes with scenic views. The clubhouse is old and could possibly do with a makeover but we found the members and staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.
Brilliant course for midweek round
We had a great game around this interesting course. Everything was in top condition aside from the bunkers being a little mismatch on their fill of sand! But it didn't affect our enjoyment of the round.
The course is a lovely test for both intermediate and more advanced golfers, as it has a couple of nice risk reward shots and tight approaches. Great views from some holes too, and picturesque woodland setting.
Highly recommended!
Challenging course
Played early Sunday morning as a 3 ball a relatively straightforward short par 4 to open is followed by a number of longer challenging holes. You definitely need to drive it well here to have any chance of a decent score. Really enjoyed playing it as no 2 holes are the same with dog leg lefts and rights tight drives and bunkers in very good (or bad ) places. The greens had just recently been sanded but didn't seem to affect putting much, I would imagine in a couple of weeks time they will be in pristine condition. Would recommend this place very highly to anyone and for 22 quid on a weekend morning it is very good value for money
Bad greens
Although its temporary the greens were ruined by spike holes and excessive sand treatment . Every putt bounced off course and must of added 10 to the score. I would expect this in early spring and they should drop their t prices accordingly
new challenge
1st time round this course and to say I was pleased with my choice would be an understatement. I play HC14 and played the front 9 2 over par 38. This course can catch people out if you stray off line the fairways are friendly if anything the greens were a little hard all in all a great day of golf and will return very soon.
Fantastic...
N.M.G.C. Is a top golf course & was in superb condition. If you get chance to play here, " you will love it ".
Great day out
Well, we booked onto North Manchester GC for a change and to see what the other courses had to offer. What a great surprise. The course is a great example of a wide, high and mid handicap friendly course with some great holes. The course was in great condition for the time of year and the people we came across were friendly.
I am certainly going to play here again!
Challenging Course
1st time I have played North Manchester and found course in excellent condition with lightening fast greens (which caught me out at 1st). Holes are varied and present some interesting challenges, particularly on front 9 for anyone who does not hit the ball far (definitely me). The finish with the par 3 18th is an great way to end a round.
Staff and members were friendly and weather was fine with no wind, I can imagine this course could become substantially more challenging with windy conditions and I will certainly be looking to try it again to see how it plays in different conditions
Course has some lovely views across Manchester which were a pleasant surprise and as this was played as a search for me to find a potential golfing home, it's certainly on my shortlist.
Great holes
Unfortunately I played this course in winter conditions and it was wet but still easily playable. Some of the holes were very impressive and challenging. Really enjoyed playing here. Can't wait to go back in the summer when weather has been a little kinder and its playing its full size and potential! Very good course.
Unforgiving
This is a challanging course where you need to hit the fairways, the course is quite undulating and the rough is quite thick. I lost a few balls where you think you've hit a good shot walk up there quite happy and guess what, no ball..
Good course
Very nice course, nice condition, friendly staff. Will visit again
not for the hackers
long & hard course a true putting test for sure, will certainly test if you can hit long woods into the greens
