Great short course for practicing
Oakland park is a short course with a number of par 3 holes
It’s short but certainly not simple
It does provide a great opportunity to practice and I’m sure will be better in the autumn when there’s more grass
The greens are well kept but atm fairways are bone dry
It’s a shame there’s no club house
Hidden Gem
Never heard about this course till a friend mentioned it. We played it yesterday and it proved to be a very interesting course which we enjoyed.
We were made to feel very welcome by everyone we met and the Team in the clubhouse really did look after us. Very happy to recommend as we had a great time.
Thanks to everyone at the club and we will be bringing our society to play next year.
Great little track
Played it last Sunday.
Great fun track. Not a driver course, lots of shots to be played and thought about.
Greens were incredible with it in mind it hasn’t rain really for 3 months
Nice course excellent greens
Not the longest golf course but enjoyable to play quite a few doglegs so you have to be precise off tee greens top notch
Amazing Society Golf Day
Played with my society here yesterday. What a fantastic golf course nestled in a beautiful countryside. Short but challenging. Excellent greens! Definitely worth another visit.
Great course although we keep getting double booked
If you're buying through Golf Now I would follow up later with a call to the clubhouse as the last two times I've booked through GN, they have given another group the same tee time. They always sort it out but worth mentioning
Great course, rapid greens
Well kept course
Excellent greens
Not a long course but it makes you think about club selection
Slowest round of all time
Just played the all time slowest round here. First time round this course. Generally an interesting layout. On the short side but enough of a challenge. Greens and fairways in great condition. Tee boxes ok but could do with levelling. The major downside was the length of the round. 3 groups waiting on the first at my tee time and got worse from there. 4 ball pushed in on the back 9 and made it even worse. Waiting on every shot. 4.5hrs for a two ball on a course with 7 par 3a is a joke. Play at twilight or midweek. Avoid at the weekend I think.
A lovely course
What a lovely course, shorter than I'm used to but all around challenging, accuracy and control is important. Has interesting dog leg challenges, wonderful greens...wow some of the best greens I've ever putted on, well maintained tees and fairways, even the rough. Friendly staff made us feel welcomed immediately, left my club in the practice area only noticing on the first green. Started running back to get it, a green staff member spotted me and offered to get me there and back in his buggy, how wonderful is that?. Friendly golfers helped guide us advising on strategy for some holes, we were first timers. I had by the 2nd hole already decided to play this lovely par 67 again, well done Oakland Park, very impressed.
Very enjoyable round
We enjoyed our round at Oakland Park - the course was in very good condition and the pace of play was generally good. I will definitely visit again.
Oakland park
Fantastic maintenance, looks amazing and plays it, staff are very friendly and extremely helpful especially when GolfNow pairs you with random people, look forward to playing here more often
Nice Course
Didn’t play very well but enjoyed my round of golf.
Really felt the club embraced knew players. Booking a buggy after booking around was no problem ( although buggy at £35 was expensive). Signing in really helpful and members on the course gave advice freely without asking when playing the course.
As I’m retired play a lot of golf courses and these greens are probably in the best condition I have played on. That said I found them hard to read as they seemed very slow( maybe that’s me as I didn’t put very well)
Well done all at the club would highly recommend playing this course.
Great course - A hidden gem
This is quite a short course, but has a bit of everything for you. I found every sand trap and any water hazard.
Great fun though, a useful driving range and a nice little putting green!
Highly recommend
Beautiful course
This is a beautiful, well kept course. Really enjoyed our round. It is a little short, with quite a few par 3s but still definitely worth playing.
Brilliant course. Staff not the best
Lovely day for golf. Course is immaculate. Lots of groups playing so waiting at times, but nothing excessive.
Not a great welcome in the clubhouse, ignored by two staff members but a third was lovely
Bizarre experience on 18th. Person came walking on the fairway stopping us playing just as we looked to play 160 yds to the Green to shout at is whether if we had seen someone overhitting a ball into the patio by the clubhouse.. We hadn’t
It transpired that he was a barman from the clubhouse. No apologies or explanation and then walked back down the middle of the fairway blocking our ogress again. I played a shot as he went to left of Green that was a good 60 yards away from him and he turned and shouted something to me.
Obviously very poor that someone didn’t own up to the shot on the patio but he was very rude and should have waited for us to play to the Green before asking us his question!
