Good course layout, but the course was suffering from the dry weather.
Course in great nick, especially the greens - but i've never played a course with so many blind shots! You also need to be a mountain goat to play it
Staff very friendly - bar kept open so we could get a drink after our round, even though they were cashing up: much appreciated
Challenge with hills
Very hilly course with lots of blind T shots and sloping fairways which you do not realise when you play it for the first time.
Brilliant course to test your golf, fairways and greens are superb.
It's Not How Big, It's What You Do With It
At just over 5300 yards it's a pretty short course, one could be forgiven for thinking it would be a walkover. However the hilly terrain and the layout through the valley really make it feel a lot longer, especially on a hot, cloudless day. The greens are fairly small and difficult to stop on at times, but they were in very good condition and putted true. Really enjoyed the course.
The clubhouse staff were very friendly. The menu was limited due to the pandemic but the sandwiches were fine. There is a good casual atmosphere in the clubhouse, people coming in wearing jeans and trainers, lots of kids having group lessons.
We really enjoyed the day and will certainly come back again.
A very clever course with some really nice features, would recommend to others. greens were smooth running that were challenging but true. fareways were clean and tidy. suitable for all levels of golfer. will be playing again.
Bank Holiday Monday 4-Ball
Had a lovely round, course was in fantastic condition. Most holes had some form of challenge, greens were particularly tough to read, some fantastic & picturesque holes - even in the snow! Our group were novice golfers but enjoyed the layout and difficulties the course provided. All of our group said we'd def return over the coming weeks. Really enjoyable with loads of time to get round, nobody was held up in front or behind.
