Great course
Course is in great condition & a test for any handicap.
The only things to gripe about was the holes were not cut very well & not much sand In the bunkers, but we paid £17pp so that has got to be the best value for money in the area.
Very good value for money
Good course with some fun up and downhill holes. Fairways and greens in good condition. Some bunkers could use a bit of work. Very good value for money
Lots of walking
A nice quiet course but alot of walking up and down hills but everyone was in great spirits around us all
The best public course.
Quite simply the best public course I've found in north London.
Great course
Good course, in great condition. Pace through the back 9 is very slow.
Brilliant value/ Lovely course and experience
It was the second time I had played Panshager, I am a decent golfer (WHI 7) but the course was too tough for me!
Very picturesque - but tight - greens could be quicker and there could be more sand in the bunkers - but really nice people and excellent "19th Hole"!
Golf weekend in Welwyn Garden City
Myself and friend who both moved away from the area over 30 years ago came to visit the area and play a couple of the courses we used to play as teenagers.
Panshanger has matured nicely and is a good test of golf.
Given the amount of rain we have had the greens and fairways were in good condition.
The tees were quite poor and very uneven.
Our issue was general etiquette especially the 3 ball behind us.
The course was busy so we had to wait al lot between shots. There was a 3 and 4 ball in front of us.
The group behind played their tee shots twice whilst we were still in range and didn’t even shout fire with balls landing around 10 meters from us.
On the 3rd occasion their ball hit my friend in the chest.
We had words with them and said the behaviour was unacceptable.
After the round we reported them in the pro shop as we felt someone needed a word with them before they seriously injure someone.
The guy in the shop (not the pro) was quite rude and said what do you expect me to do about it. We asked him what he would do if it happened to him and his reply was “I’d hit it straight back at them “. Not very helpful!
Shan’t be returning
Great for the price
Nice for a public course and cheap if you go outside busy periods.
5 hours and 15 minutes 😩😩
Apparently two societies on the course on a Saturday?? But I have never played a course which took over five hours to play.
Waited on every hole behind two four balls.
Course was ok for this time of the year and greens need work on.
Price was good which am sure is why it’s so busy but they shouldn’t let two golf society’s on a course especially weekends.
Fun Course with Challenging Holes
A good layout, quite challenging with many fairways being sloped. Unfortunately the wet weather has ruined the tee boxes and parts of the fairways. Greens are good. Look forward to returning in the winter.
Don't expect a quick round. Was very busy but there's a half way house and it's a nice walk.
I have played here several times, course has great holes . It has suffered just with the weather this time in a couple of fairways, but greens were spot on pin positions were in good places. We did have a fair bit of rain but that could not dampen my enthusiasm for playing this course. I will always be playing this course.
Great public course
With all golf clubs battling a lot of rain at present, this course was ok considering.
Muddy but not logged with water….playable.
Will return
Panshanger
Excellent and well maintained course for this time of the year.
Very very boggy
To be quite honest this course has not held up very well to the recent wet weather unlike how I used to remember it being like many years ago. Lots of holes were like playing in a swamp and pretty much everywhere was covered in leaves. I don’t think this is very well maintained anymore and certainly wasn’t good value for the amount we paid. I won’t be coming back here this winter as I can’t see it getting any better . Would also be nice to have an air hose where you can clean up trolleys and shoes at the end especially considering how mucky you get playing here! The mud is basically like clay so it becomes very messy and clings on to your clubs wheels and shoes. Also our booking we had was double booked so we ended up teeing off later than we should have done which was a tad annoying . Sorry trying to find something positive to say but there wasn’t much on this occasion I’m afraid. I’ll be back next year once the dry season starts again .
First time at Panshanger
Panshanger has a friendly low key vibe in the club shop.
The course was testing with lots of mature trees. The greens were in decent condition especially when you factor in the poor weather lately. There was some water in some bunkers and one or two fairways were soft and heavy but overall very good.
Nice feature on the 18th there is a camera which shows on a20 minute delay in the bar giving you time to change before being horrified or elated by watching your closing shots.
Great!
The guy in the clubhouse was excellent. Very accommodating to our needs. Course was in excellent condition considering it’s nearly November
