Total waste of money
The Guy in the pro shop was lovely !!!
The Marshall was rude
The buggy had a mind of its own
Robot mowers were a pain in the butt.
And the greens were probably the worst I've ever seen in 35years of me playing golf. All in all I spent £80 to get attitude from some jumped up no Mark and putt on a beach.
The worst golf experience I've ever had I wish I never bothered
Very Disappointing
I recently played a round at this golf course, and to say it was a disappointing experience would be an understatement. Despite several dry days leading up to my visit, the course was still embarrassingly waterlogged in multiple areas, particularly along the paths connecting holes. The mud was unavoidable, and there was no apparent effort from the staff to address it, no gravel, no drainage improvements, nothing. It felt like they’d simply given up on keeping it playable.
The greens were in an even sorrier state. They were patchy and poorly maintained, with one green sporting a massive hole or divot, I couldn’t tell if it was from an animal or another player’s carelessness. Either way, it was a glaring sign of neglect. Speaking of neglect, we scoured the course for a ball cleaner and only found one, which was completely dry and useless. It’s baffling how a course can skimp on such basic amenities.
Litter was another eyesore. Litter was scattered around various holes, making it clear that upkeep isn’t a priority here. On top of that, there were so many mole hills dotted across the course, completely unattended to, that it felt like playing on a forest course rather than a proper golf layout. The course seems to rely heavily on robot lawnmowers buzzing around, but that’s no substitute for human attention. Golf courses need regular, hands-on maintenance, and this one is severely lacking in that department. This is a huge shame because we’re local and were genuinely excited about the prospect of signing up as members. With proper care, this place could have been our go-to spot, but as it stands, I won’t be rushing back.
The course has a great layout.
The green conditions are terrible, probably the worst I've played on for some time definitely need a lot of green keepers attention .
Shorter course, but with some character throughout
Modern clubhouse and a well equipped driving range are a great introduction to quite any open, but not uninteresting course. Suitable for all and pace of play has been good on this and previous visits. Played in frozen conditions, but the course coped well.
Shocking greens
I have played this course many times, usually well looked after but the greens were in very poor condition, made putting your ball like a game of crazy golf. The layout has always been good and usually an enjoyable round of golf, just the greens let this course down, glad we only paid £25.
The worst Greens in the UK
For fairness, I’ve played this course before and it has been good. Certainly nowhere near standard it was 5 years ago, but good. There’s an expectation that winter golf means Greens won’t be great, but these were embarrassing- other golfers were laughing with us as we went around. There should be a warning on the website where it says course ‘open’ that greens are unplayable. Giant holes, uneven sand and the 12th….oh my…..what was that green?! 😂😂 all in all a shambles which ruins a course with a good layout.
Worst Greens this year
What a disappointing visit to Paultons this winter, played in the summer and was optimistic that the greens would be to at least half the standard they were then. How wrong were we. Very disappointed, ruins a good game poor greens and that's what it was for us. Shockingly bad.
Bad greens
Great course and always enjoy playing it however the greens are suffering with blight which isn’t good. However for £25 you can’t complain.
Great day out
Course was excellent, the had just been treated but it was still good value for money £27.50
Great price for winter golf but that’s about it
Was very pleased with the green fee price when booking. Unfortunately the course was not presented In the best way. The course is very wet. Understand this cannot be helped. The tee boxes and greens are among the worst I have ever played. Unable to cut fairways due to how wet it is. Greens have some sort of disease and are absolutely covered in sand. All bunkers GUR
Picturesque parkland course.
Reasonable playing conditions and not too busy. Course probably in need of a cutting as off fairways which could have been defined better, grass a little long. Greens were slow. Two holes out of play for groundstaff work and this was unknown to us? Probably better in summer.
Winter is definitely here already
Greens were terrible and fairways uncut, almost same length as the rough
Lovely little gem
First time playing here, will definitely be playing again. Green fees were very reasonable for the quality of facilities and course that you get. I was impressed at every turn for what was an enjoyable and well kept lovely course!
Greens In Superb Condition
The course was in superb condition, especially the greens, which were fast and true, amongst the best greens that I've played this year.
GOOD COURSE
Great course open layout and trimmed off fairway makes it a good course for a learning player .
Value for money and great condition
Great course! Played a Thursday night twilight for £20! Course was in great condition and greens were quick and looked great! Finished 18 in just over 3 hours as a two ball and was hardly held up. Bargain for £20!
