Plopped this fella right on the front of the green to roll on to with in 2 feet of the pin and managed to hole out for Par on the par 5 17th. Best shot of the day. Photo submitted by u236947870 on 06/23/2024

Not a golfers course!
Dry weather recently made the course virtually impossible. Very open with rock hard tight lies. Green were small, average and impossible to hold shots on. Course is short and definitely aiming at societies, mid to high handicappers. Wasn’t fun due to the nature of the course. Lovely wild horses roaming about but the golf wasn’t fun. Tee boxes were struggling, a lot were just piles of sand! Won’t be rushing back at £40. £20 a maybe
Great value
Lovely game of golf, great staff, greens in good nick.
Good forest course with plenty of livestock
We often play at this course as it is central to our home locations. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
There was a match on yesterday and so the car park was rammed (additional parking available near the main road with a walk back to the clubhouse - lots of cones around as the beer lorry was due in).
We had a good round but slower than normal due to the competition ahead if us.
The ground is getting very hard in places and so the shots were travelling more than usual.
Beer is always good after a round.
Lovely Forest Course
Have played this course a number of times and always enjoyed it.
There is a real mix of challenging and interesting holes. It's a real Forest course, with ponies wandering everywhere, which I personally think adds so much to the character of the course.
The fairways were slightly patchy in places but the greens were good and fast.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. I really enjoy playing there and would definitely recommend it.
Nice course
Holes pretty close together otherwise a nice course
Great Friday afternoon
Nice course greens in good shape friendly pro shop and club house would recommend
Course looked after albeit a natural course in the forest, lovely scenery and lovely weather that always helps. Staff and other golfers really friendly, clubhouse does a nice breakfast and good selection of drinks.
Careful what tee time you book
Unfortunately, we were caught behind a seniors match which was desperately slow 🐌. On the positive side, weather was great, greens were very good and the Guinness was superb 👌

Quite an open course, mid handicappers can score some decent points with the layout and around 5 par 3 holes.
Enjoyable day apart from the rain. Would return.
Nice course - but could be better condition
We had a good day out here - the course is in a great location and I think in peak condition would be an excellent round of golf.
We were perhaps slightly unfortunate that there was a lot of course maintenance going on and therefore many temporary greens in play. There were also a lot of winter tees being used which were mats and not grass.
I suspect if we came back in a months time, it would be a really good course to play and definitely worth a visit!
Different game required
Good value visitors fee. Staff welcoming. Reasonable weather. Greens in good condition. Winter tees (mats but not particularly good ones). Course mix of dry and hard ground along with boggy areas (peaty forest). Playing off this with little grass and mix of twigs weeds and forest animal and pony scrapes was different and difficult compared with most courses I play. Quite frustrating in fact. I'd imagine in drier months even more so? I'll probably stick to parland courses or those with more grass in future.
Great value, enjoyable course!
First time playing here and was impressed all round. Great condition for the time of year, best greens I have played in winter. Nice layout and a good challenge on some holes also.
Great value
Had a special price of £18 each for 18 holes, very good value for money, greens were in great shape considering its in the new forest. Only disappointment was trying to find the next hole, hardly any holes had numbers and a few tee boxes in close proximity, so could be confusing if you're not following another group
Excellent value course in good condition
We have played the New Forest golf club many times in the past but rarely enjoyed it more than this week.
It is a traditional forest course and can get very wet, especially at the bottom of the course and where the stream runs through it.
This week, though, for the time of year, it was in very good condition. Fairways were pretty good and still had bounce and roll and the greens were excellent, hard and fast and fairly true.
Worth every penny.
Interesting course
Overcast, still day on a forest course. Conditions generally ok with boggy ground predominantly off line so avoidable. Green conditions good but slow. Tee booked had us following a 3 then 4 ball so a little slow although still finished in a little over 3.5hours. Course has a lot of par 3 holes especially back 9 but they do vary in length and elevations. Imagine course would seem quite different during summer. Would give it another go just to see.
Good day out
Good to play here and the only pain was getting tees to stand up on temporary tee boxes.
Might have to invest in the rubber ones
Staff very helpful and friendly
