Winter golf
Sunny but cold day, course in great condition considering the recent rainfall. Good all round club, friendly pro and members, highly recommended.
Very forgiving
Played today after a little rain... Course is in good condition, nice easy walk. If playing well could score very well as my playing partner did. Greens in great nice odd pitch mark here and there.
Would play again
An underused golf course.
Pike is a great layout with very interesting holes. It’s well maintained and it’s a shame because they seem to lack enough members. It’s in the middle of nowhere but oddly very close to the motorway with easy access.
Greens are fairly easy and it’s not long but some small greens and tough pins add to the challenge.
It’s really worth a visit.
Pike fold
Nice long coarse let down by a few little points. Could very easily play down the wrong fairway as no real direction or map. Looking for route to next tee box as they don’t roll into each other. The greens were bobble about what I did not expect as the weather we have had. Overall I still enjoyed my round, thanks
Green maintenance week
Unfortunately when we turned up and seen the putting green covered in sand we knew we had ***** up. Nowhere online did it mention it was green maintenance week otherwise we wouldn’t have booked it. The course where we are members didn’t charge guests this week as they are doing the same. Would recommend pike but definitely ring up to check the condition first
Superb hidden gem of a course!
Had a superb round here....from meeting the wonderful and helpful lady pro who gave a brilliant welcome - we really enjoyed this course on a fine summers day.
First visit, but wont be out last!
Stunning view's great course.
I've played this cousev5 or 6 times now and I will keep going back...the green are brilliant..you won't be disappointed..
Great Day.
Great day. Good course. Friendly people and tremendous staff across thd whole course from shop, grounds staff and bar without exception
Great day out
Fantastic greens , well taken care if course , will play again soon
Worth the green fee we paid
Course in decent condition, tees boxes, fairways and greens all in very good nick, however I was having to replace 4-5 massive pitch marks on every green as seems few repair them the which is sad. Marked lower as there’s a few sub 300 yard par 4s which are just straight so not much of a test. Thought it was worth the £20 though for an after work round given the good conditions of the course.
Last minute lucky book
Turned up at pike fold as I had dropped wife off for knee surgery had to kill the morning, course is about 5 mins off m60 or m66 as you drive in on a meandering drive after crossing the m66 to access course lovely views to your left of the 18th green in front of the club House.
The facilities has a chipping/pitching green 2mins walk back down road on left, and a grassed area 20yds from 1st tee for those 150yd warm ups.
The course would describe it as a well maintained parkland with lushes fairways overlooking the Lancashire hills to the north for a par 71 plenty of challenges for mid to high handicaps as most greens are protected by well placed bunkers as are quite a few of the tee shots first cut just about right fluffy but you an get out with a good shot, bunkers well maintained and raked, greens rolled nice but a good read is required as some are big and undulating.
All in all a very pleasent morning spent with new friend Ian, Frank and Martin who where kind enough to allow me the pleasure and their knowledge of the course helped me to shoot a respectable net 72 after a triple bogey start! Watch out for the bunkers off the tee on the right and then the ones just short of the green on a par 5 start. If you can travel to Bury a must try for the price.
