Challenging Track
Love this course always gives me a true representation of where my games at however with the long layoff i would have expected it to be in better condition some of the greens were patchy which prevented a true roll to putting and cost me a few strokes
Post Lockdown
You would think that after 3/4 months of the course not being used by golfers the conditions of the golf course would be near the best they have ever been.
This was not the case, The greens for the first 5 holes were almost like playing a crazy golf course, The grass was way to long for a putting surface and the amount of bobbles in the greens as well.
The fairways were pretty mediocre with a lot of bold patches as well, Bunkers did not look like they had had any new sand in them for years and were very wet, Not what you would expect for a sand trap.
For a course that raves about it once being part of the European Tour it needs brining back to life.
Good test !
I really like the course , good value , great staff ,
It’s a good golf test from start to finish !
Undulating golf course
A wonderful course ,
Undulating fairways , quality greens !
Many challenging holes and good value .
A really great day !
Disappointed
The course is was badly maintained with the greens being the worst looked like they had divots all over them making them terribly uneven. The golf course is also a public walkway so there are loads of people walking all over the course making it very dangerous. Cannot understand why we should pay to have round of golf but public can walk for free
Lots on general public
Course was ok condition for this time of year. But the amount of general public on course was very off putting. Had to wait long periods for large groups to walk by and on two occasions had a dog pick up and run off with golf ball. Groups of kids sitting on greens and messing up greens. Wasn’t a great day out.
winter golf.
the course is still payable in the winter and is still quite busy. the greens and fairways are very wet in places.
COVID wake up
Having been unable to play for a few weeks we got a few of us together. This was a very enjoyable start back to golf. While it had been raining hard the day before the course was very good. Greens could do with some work
Some really good holes but shared with dog walkers
On holiday and needed a course to play - Course has some really nice holes but in general requires tidying up. Some greens were in very poor condition. Biggest negative with the course is the fact that it is shared park land and so has many many dog walkers on the course (probably more than golfers during our round). Glad we played it but wont be returning
Some lovely holes.
Some nice holes, but the tone was set on the first tee when dog walkers walked across the front of the tee mid swing. In fairness most of the walkers were curtious there were a few totally oblivious to the surrounding which made it dangerous at times.
Staff were helpful pre game but slow play during the game would have benefited from a course ranger. For example we had 3 groups waiting on the tee.
I'm hoping that was a one off, we will give it another chance next time we are in the Bournemouth area.
Nice course, slow greens
Lovely setting , nice tree line, some green in poor condition but most ok, fairways need some tlc, but.great value
Queens Park
Some since I have played the course and generally good. What was very disappointing, was the lack of sand in the bunkers.
