Very poor value
Only 12 of 18 holes open and the ones that were open were very wet and the fairways were very uneven a bit like farmland.
.
Iford
Bought as a Hot deal and at £13 each, it was good value. It's not my favourite course, some of the fairways including the 1st (old 10th) are still very uneven after drainage was installed many years ago but the greens are pretty good.
Flat course and pitted fairways
Greens were ok but fairways pitted and 50/50 if you would get a decent lie on some fairways. Not my cup of tea but shouldn’t complain for £17
Wet and dry
It’s a nice open course that suits players like me (ie bad). It is forgiving but suitably varied.
Its issues are the easy flooding and large cracks that develop over the dry summer period. Magpies also love pecking at the greens (which are otherwise in reasonable shape).
Great value for money
The greens were excellent but the fairways were dry and cracked due to the hot weather. Interesting course layout and we will definitely play again.
Nice course needs some TLC
We enjoyed the golf, and understand the dry weather has played its part,in difficulties in maintenance of the course, but there are many rough and at times difficult areas to access and walk along, areas that have been dug out,for drainage possibly that are hazardous at times.
Be careful of many cracks in the soil along the fairways too!
Poor Control
Control over pace of play here is awful - they had a marshal on the 1st tee which meant we started off fine, but no one on the 10th to prevent groups jumping in and causing a back log. We were a 2-ball - every single hole after the 4th we were waiting 10-15 mins at least to tee off. We got to the 10th and nearly packed it in - the group behind us did.
Needs to be resolved or I can see less and less people playing here including myself, which is a shame as the course is good fun and they have great facilities.
Fairways
Staff excellent
Greens very good
Fairways AWFUL too many ruts and bumps not so easy to see where your ball has landed
Fairways very rough VERY uncomfortable if one had to have a buggy and also a trolley to manage
Overall OK would be great if somehow I repeat somehow the ruts could be ironed out !!! Would then make it into a very nice course
The pizzas are great !!
Too slow ,
Too slow , to close tee times for the standard of golfers out on this course, never never worth £38
Can get better for less
E reality like this course.
Though we like it, it’sa shame you can’t just pay and play 9 holes.
Also, my own fault, but I booked on the par 3 by mistake then booked the correct one. I can’t seem to find where I get a refund of golf now
Course has good amenities.
Not the hardest course but enjoyable. Everything you will ever need is at this golf centre.
