Short but tricky
This is not a long course by any means , it is quite tight in places and does reward a straight shot.
The main trouble is when you get to the small rock hard bouncy greens , with their high lipped bunkering ( very well strategically placed , good design )
Taking into concideration the ammount of rain we havn't had and the extraordinarly dry conditions , the course played ok.
The main criticism is that as it is a municipal course , you get golfers of limited ability ( not a problem ), but it is the constant messing about and time wasting on the tees and the lack of " ringing the bell " on the par 5 7 / 16 , this causes more unneccesary delays and ruins the flow of the round .
Overall this is a good course and i probably play again at some point when the conditions are slightly more lush and green !
I would recommend this to a friend , but warn them that as it is a nine hole course it can get very congested and will take a lot longer to get around than it should .
Beautiful course crap parking
Beautiful course crap parking The course is beautiful the greens are beautiful when you’re driving to the course there’s massive potholes they just need to spend some money rather than have gravel potholes and stones for parking if you have a performance car do not go you will wreck your wheels
Much improved since last time I played. Course was is in great condition and bunkers were excellent. I don't think you will find a better course in the area for the price.
Didn't enjoy
I have a soft spot for this course as I learned to play here as it's ideal for beginners and was easy to get on and you could fly through a round. This time despite being a weekday, it took nearly 4 hours on my own due to selfish players refusing to let me through as a single player. It ruined the round and I shan't be rushing back.
Decent for the Money
if you're after a quick 9 holes, it's ideal.
Had two groups in front of me that were low standard that were slow, but to be fair, they let me play through so I was passed them by 3rd hole. I was round in 1 hr 15.
Course is in decent condition, and good value for money.
If your after anything other than a 'quick 9 holes', I wouldn't recommend it but it's fine for what it is.
Oh dear
Not the best course I’ve played by a long way but if you’re just starting golf and you’re prepared to wait half hour to play the next hole and you’re not bothered about the state of the greens etc then play here. They cram as many people on here as they possibly can then people who have finished nine roll straight back on to the first.
Don't book this course
I booked this course 6 days before I was scheduled to play despite reading the reviews, against my better judgement I booked giving the course the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately the reviews are right, they don't allow non members to play in the mornings over the weekend. I did a 40mile round trip for nothing. Golf now blame the course and the course blame golf now.
Poor
Booked at 940 however when I rang that morning was told no spots as there’s always a competition on Sundays
They did offer fit us in between 3 balls but disappointed
As we paid £32
QUEENS PARK
This is a lovely little course, easy to get about, although not the most challenging it suits the short game. This course gets overlooked, I think people will be pleasantly surprised.
Be good in summer
Course has nice layout with some challenging holes unfortunately the amount of leafs on the course made it impossible to play 3 greens and balls on fairways become lost balls on many holes. But can see potential for this as a summer course
Great challenging 9 holes
For a 9 hole golf course, it’s easy to get on, well looked after and great value for money at £8
Amazing little place
Played this course 4-5 years ago, and i must say the improvement over this time is very noticable , i believe its under new management, its only small course, beginners mainly or a quick 9hole round. The 4th & 6th are challenging,
Some new bunkers, staked trees, long rough to separate the holes all look great & it now looks like a golf course, the head greenkeeper deserves a medal the greens are outstanding for what it is.
A hidden gem , looking forward to returning.
Good course to take the kids or novices
Played here many times. Its perfect if you're learning to play or if you want to take someone who is new to golf. There are still one or two tricky holes but the par4's are mostly kind and most of the fairways are generous. Enjoyed the round and will be back.
Hopefully gets better
As title says with new owners price has gone up and for a very very basic public course it's not really value for money
Enjoyed again
Third time playing this course and have enjoyed each round. Yes it is short and nine holes but interesting. Staff in shop and club house very friendly and helpful. Will play again when in the area.
