A loveley scenic course
This is a bit further than I usually travel, but they offered an early start that fits into my busy day.
I arrived at 5.40 for my 6.08 tee time and wasn't the first to arrive!
Opening hole - is a par five slight dog-leg. It's a good start to the round.
The first cut is a tad long, so you might struggle to spot your ball.
There are a couple of bridges to cross over the stream that runs through, and holes 10-12 you cross the road for.
On hole 7, leave your trolley on "this" side of the bridge; once you've teed off, you come back over to play the hole...
A good test for an average golfer like me, I would return.
Hidden Gem
Pro shop was closed, water drinking fountain broken on back 9 is all I could find wrong with this course. The greens and fairways were all perfect. Hats off to the grounds staff who clearly work hard and know their stiff. If I lived closer to Ramsey I would join tomorrow.
Nice club
Good club, friendly welcome and in good condition. Would recommend
Smooth golfing
Well maintained and staff are very friendly specially Stwart.
Early morning golf
Course in excellent condition considering all the rain we have had lately.,greens perfect, bunkers trimmed and raked. Staff really friendly, bacon roll afterwards really hit the spot . Will be back again soon as really good value for money.
Ramsey GC
The course was in good nick despite the greens being worked on and the first cut being long in places. This was understandable due to the recent rain. We had a really good round quick and easy. It played very well. Ramsey members should be justly proud
Was alright
A couple holes were getting a referb so greens were unplayable. Which I don’t mind! Course improvements are must and you may as well do them outside of peak season.
Staff were great and the club house looked lovely.
Layout was a little funny, a little bit of walking back/around on yourself, and a corner of the course you cross a main road for and back again. ( I think 3 maybe 4 holes)
But nice enough. I don’t think it’s particularly challenging even with the dog legs etc, greens had a break in them but weren’t crazy.
P.s - the few holes the other side of the road were my fav. Love a long iron on a par 3 and a power fade par 5.
Great friendly course
Made to feel really welcome by the Pro Shop and members, although a few temporary greens for maintenance (which was declared prior) the course was in Excellant condition throughout. You can see the pride and effort all around. Some great holes including some shorter par 3’s . Pace of play was great. Will definitely be giving it another visit.
Lovely Course Welcoming Team Of Staff
This week was course management week so a few greens are out of use as drainage work being completed. The 9th hole was closed again due to the work taking place, we was informed of this by the Pro before we started our round. The course yet again was in very good condition, greens, surrounds, fairways and rough well manicured.
We will be back in a few weeks once the work on the greens has been completed and they are back open.
Good course, great value.
The course is in good condition - tees, fairways and greens. Bunkers could do with a bit more sand.
Staff very friendly & helpful.
Lovely Course In Lovely Condition
The course was in excellent condition, greens putted well, even though I sunk nothing, the greens also held really well. Fairways and rough well manicured. Did not have one bad lie all day even in the rough.
Staff always very welcoming.
Ramsey great
Ramsey is a great course and offers excellent value for golfers. Some challenging holes. Will be playing there again very soon.
Great course
Love playing the is course, plenary of challenges through the 18 holes. But this round was far to slow, very stop start as too many in the course, 2 groups always waiting to tee off.
Great Course in Great Condition
Played Ramsey many times over a very long period of 50 years, the course is in excellent condition with the greens as good as I have ever seen them. The fairways and rough were well manicured even though there had been heavy rain for quite a few days. The bunkers had suffered due to the rain but had been raked and therefore ideal to play out of. Would I recommend Ramsey? yes 100% and we will return very soon, if I lived closer would be on my list for membership. Ramsey through the years has had its ups and downs but it is now on the up. Very nice layout with friendly welcoming staff.
