Rookery Park Golf Club - Main Course

My First time at Rookery Park golf course was in lovely condition greens were excellent fairways were also excellent pace of play was a little slow but other than that it was a pleasant experience thank you.

This is a members course and at times I must say the members are not always welcoming which is probably why there is not too many on the golf course at times. The cloakrooms are locked to the outside visitors. The clubhouse bar staff only seem to serve members before guests. Overall though the course is excellent in the summer but a lot of the time in the winter quite a few holes get closed off.

We play this course a lot and it seems they discourage anyone joining rather than encouraging. This does not come from most of the members but the team in charge.

2.5 hours for first 9 was ridiculous with 4 groups on some holes. Members genuinely surprised. Back 9 was 1.5 hours, thankfully.

Tough but very enjoyable course.

Played here for the first time this week the course is in great condition. The staff were very friendly will definitely be playing here again great value for money

Played solo in the evening and the course was virtually empty. Great course. Not huge in length but tight in places with a lot of trees so accuracy over power is needed if you are to have a shot into the green. Greens in immaculate condition. Would definitely play it again.

Played yesterday on this lovely course. We were lucky because the weather was amazing which makes golf much easier! Nice fairways and greens had good speed. I found the course layout very easy to navigate.

A lot of the par 4’s are the same distance. Quite a boring layout and certainly not worth the money.

Very nice course excellent greens. Just the same as the practice putting greens which is what you should expect.. social distancing in place around clubhouse and tour shop. Friendly staff. In all very pleasurable day. Well done.

What a course, what a test of golf. Rookery is a hidden gem !

Played Sunday pm not many on the couse so no hold up pace of play good. Only a few things that weren't to impressed with when we finished the round the bar was shut at well before 7, And the score card looked was awful no maps of holes or distances to bunkers etc. Which it use to have a few years back. Was good value for the amount paid though.

Have played this multiple times when I'm back visiting family. Pro shop, as usual, seemed about as interested in being friendly and helpful as David Davis did in negotiating a brexit deal. Was surprised to find course in better condition in winter than most summers. Wasn't surprised by behaviour of members, these people seriously they've joined Muirfield and act accordingly. 3 ball following a mixed 4 ball. 4 hours 45 minutes to play a round of winter golf. Half course queued up behind them and couldn't have cared less. Finished round in dark. Attitude of group was appalling and isn't the first time we've experienced it. Good to see that members have written lots of nice reviews on here, just a shame they don't want you on the course.
