Wet, too wet.

Was looking forward to this round but was ultimately disappointed by my golf and the state of the course. In my opinion, I'm not sure it should have been open as it was saturated, with mud around all narrowings. Very slippy in places too.

Given the last 2 years I can see why on a bank holiday an opportunity to generate income was taken though. The course is a decent layout and I'm sure on another, dry, day it's a better spectacle and better state too.

Can't fault the facilities there, the range is good, the clubhouse sociable and bar staff nice too, just need another opportunity to see this course in drier conditions.

Good summer course

Could be very nice in summer. Course seen a lot of play and water recently.

Slow play people playing 5 balls which was really annoying.

Decent course but would be better in summer.

Much better courses to okay elsewhere

Greens in absolutely shocking condition. Has anyone ever heard of a pitch mark repairer on this course?

Bunkers the worse I've ever seen.

some of the tee boxes look like someone's ridden a motorbike through them.

It's like the groundskeeper went on furlough and never came back.

shocking course and rubbish value for money. will not come back

A challenging course in great condition.

The driving range and putting green are excellent too.

Lovely views. Sensational conditions. Love hole 7

A stunning little gem. I was Captain at High Elms in Kent 2018 and 2020. I wanted a course reasonably close to my parents whilst visiting on holiday. Rother Valley is a cracking venue. A relatively easy walk yet still quite challenging. The 7th hole is certainly a great hole, picturesque and charming whilst very tricky. Tee shot downhill over a water hazard just in front of the green, with bunkers left and right and trees just behind.

Superb venue for a golf day or society. Nearest the pin on 7 and longest drive on 18. You are set for a perfect day.

Well done to all the staff and especially the Greenkeeper’s.

The best Value for money course I have played

A great-looking course with some interesting and challenging holes as well as some pretty par 3s. It had it all as well as the very cheap price. Can't go wrong. The greens were a little slow but that was the only downside to an otherwise very enjoyable round.

Slowest play of any course I’ve ever played

Course is in fairly good condition but the front 9 took 2 hours and 20 minutes, by the time we got to the 11th there were 2 groups on the course and 3 waiting to tee off. Ended up walking off. It’s a shame because it’s a challenging course that’s fairly well looked after. Won’t be going back any time soon. I appreciate it’s the weekend and summer but come on.

Hot day

Apart from the pace of play being dictated by players spending a lot of time looking for wayward strikes the course played well. Extremely hot day so a good run on drives but if you hit the greens they stuck

My recommendation would be to have a Marshall keeping the play moving.
