Excellent course and value
First visit to Rufford. Lovely, picturesque setting on a cold but sunny day. Professional was very friendly and informative.
Course in very good condition, some challenging holes especially the 17th! Greens ran true, good bunkers ; only slight negative were the tee blocks which were a bit uneven but for November, not a surprise.
Lovely course friendly staff
Warm welcome from staff even after booking wrong day. Very accommodating. Course played really well with some stunning views
Would recommend to all golfers all abilities.
We came from West Sussex
And enjoyed it. Too cold. Too wet. Too windy. Two pars on 17so all is well with the world.
Rushed by reception
The course is an amazing one really enjoyed it the shape of the fairways holes bunkers every thing was really good . Members were friendly and polite , it's one of the best courses I've played and we are planning on coming back next week. Only one down side we experienced was , we arrived early prior to tee of time to have a look around and have a quick practice on putting green to try and get some sort of read of pace speed of the green, as this was our first time here , how ever we were unable to do this as we were rushed straight out on to the course by the gentleman at reception even tho we were early by 15- 20 mins . This was the only down side and as trivial as it sounds it made a big difference to our experience at the course . When we come again we will be coming a lot earlier so we can go on putting green etc and relax more rather than being rushed. Other than that one let down by staff the the course it's self brilliant and would definitely recommend it to friends and family
Slow slow slow!
So slow missed last two holes as a 2, 3 and 4 ball waiting on 17!!
Super course, suits all handicaps, some tough par 3's, challenging greens
A good days golf
My son came over from Australia so to play in winter is a bonus and the course did not disappoint us the greens were in good condition as was th rest of the course
Great autumn/winter course.
Course fully open using proper tees and greens and in excellent condition throughout reflecting the time of year and recent weather. Only downside was the pace of play. To some extent the course suffers from its own popularity and the prospect of our two ball being delayed behind a number of four balls ahead resulted in the pro making the helpful suggestion that we might prefer to play the front nine twice, which whilst not ideal we did. As a result, we never saw another golfer after hole nine and flew around at the second time af asking.
Improved Course
I had not played here for 18 months and I found the course in better condition than previously. Sadly, it has become a victim of its own success though, as too many are playing it, due to its superb drainage in winter. Overall, it is a must play course, with the signature 17th hole an absolute joy.
All weather course.
Despite wet conditions during the early part of the week, the course was in excellent condition underfoot. A stiff breeze on the day resulted in leaves being blown across fairways but ground staff were tackling, albeit fighting something of a losing battle. The course provides a decent test with a variety of holes, is relatively short and easy enough walking. The greens were in good nick. The popularity of the course and all seasons play has seen a price increase but a promotional voucher offset the cost and for just £10 provided superb value on the day. Comfortable bar area although limited choice of beers. Staff mainly sociable.
Great autumn/winter course.
Excellent drainage provides for all-year round golf. Fairly easy walking but variety of holes provides for a decent test. Condition leads to popularity but pace of play reasonable on the day. Fairways relatively dry despite recent rain and greens in very good condition. Voucher provided for reduction in green fee which has been hiked since last year but price not unreasonable relative to competition. Warm welcome by pro and comfortable bar area.
great value golf
Played Rufford for the second time today, course was better than I remembered, fairways and greens in great condition, the holes all vary greatly in elevation, direction and level of difficulty, not a bad hole amongst them, some lovely views to take in, you will be hard pressed to find better value, quality golf anywhere.
Rufford
A very well looked after course, which played well. Great staff, helpful and friendly. We played it twice in one week. A nice challenging 17th over the water and 7th over the valley.
Would definitely go back again.
John Clarke
Lovely course in a beautiful setting.
First time on this course and have to say I was very impressed, friendly welcome before teeing off.The course was in fantastic condition the greens were not overly quick but very true. The scenery is stunning and although quite undulating the course didn't seem to taxing. A quick mention of the 17th, yes it is a memorable hole but does seems to create a bit of a bottleneck. However this is a course I will definitely play again
Great course
Played after 24 hrs of heavy rain course was still played well , and every hole different and a challenge , highly recommend , fairways good , greens good , highly recommend
Rufford park
First time myself and friend had played Rufford park when we arrived we were shown where to go and made to feel welcome. We paid £30 and we enjoyed this course. The 17 hole is something to remember would play the course again
