All weather course.
Despite wet conditions during the early part of the week, the course was in excellent condition underfoot. A stiff breeze on the day resulted in leaves being blown across fairways but ground staff were tackling, albeit fighting something of a losing battle. The course provides a decent test with a variety of holes, is relatively short and easy enough walking. The greens were in good nick. The popularity of the course and all seasons play has seen a price increase but a promotional voucher offset the cost and for just £10 provided superb value on the day. Comfortable bar area although limited choice of beers. Staff mainly sociable.
Great autumn/winter course.
Excellent drainage provides for all-year round golf. Fairly easy walking but variety of holes provides for a decent test. Condition leads to popularity but pace of play reasonable on the day. Fairways relatively dry despite recent rain and greens in very good condition. Voucher provided for reduction in green fee which has been hiked since last year but price not unreasonable relative to competition. Warm welcome by pro and comfortable bar area.
great value golf
Played Rufford for the second time today, course was better than I remembered, fairways and greens in great condition, the holes all vary greatly in elevation, direction and level of difficulty, not a bad hole amongst them, some lovely views to take in, you will be hard pressed to find better value, quality golf anywhere.
Rufford
A very well looked after course, which played well. Great staff, helpful and friendly. We played it twice in one week. A nice challenging 17th over the water and 7th over the valley.
Would definitely go back again.
John Clarke
Lovely course in a beautiful setting.
First time on this course and have to say I was very impressed, friendly welcome before teeing off.The course was in fantastic condition the greens were not overly quick but very true. The scenery is stunning and although quite undulating the course didn't seem to taxing. A quick mention of the 17th, yes it is a memorable hole but does seems to create a bit of a bottleneck. However this is a course I will definitely play again
Great course
Played after 24 hrs of heavy rain course was still played well , and every hole different and a challenge , highly recommend , fairways good , greens good , highly recommend
Rufford park
First time myself and friend had played Rufford park when we arrived we were shown where to go and made to feel welcome. We paid £30 and we enjoyed this course. The 17 hole is something to remember would play the course again
Great course
Thoroughly enjoyed it, greens are looking great, it's great for beginners and intermediates. Love the 17th par 3 over the water.
Good course but not much variety Off the tee
Really nice course but design means that almost all par 4s are driver off the tee. Could do with slightly more variety off the tee to add additional challenges.
Lovely course
The pro was very helpful as we didn't realise we had to pay at the course - thought payment had been taken from GolfNow.
Lovely course with great views. It has been a long time since we played the course and the trees and course have matured beautifully. Some interesting holes.
A little gem
RUFFORD PARK
Second time that I have played here in the last month. It is a hidden gem, great holes especially 17th! greens are fast and true.
Clubhouse excellent, with beautiful views,
Don't tell too many people how good this course is!!
Beautiful course.
A great course in a spectacular setting with some fairly challenging holes, particularly the par 3's! Excellent facilities and definitely arranging to play there again.
Great course
Excellent course great layout greens fantastic
Would highly recommend this course
What a course
The course was in immaculate condition, i cant recommend it enough
Great course - very pretty
Had a very enjoyable afternoon round (2 ball). The course is interesting whatever your h/c and in the swirling breeze particularly challenging! Some lovely views, not least the brilliant 17th (try it with an inconsistent cross wind!!!). My only gripe is that the pace of play can be very slow. By the 5th tee we were waiting over 15 minutes for 3 groups to play in front of us and this obviously continued throughout the round - total 5.5 hrs!!! If you can cope with that then a course well deserving of a visit.
Great Course, great facilities!
I was staying at the nearby Centerparcs for the week and 3 of us made plans to have a golf day.
I was really, really impressed with this course, and for March it was in great condition.
The 17th is a brilliant challenge over the water!
I would definitely visit again,!
Great Course
Lovely golf course in great condition .
Took 5 hours to complete round due to Society Four Balls on course .
Good value
Friendly
Has the potential to be the best course I have played in Lincolnshire
Like the title said the course is amazing, however there were a few areas that let it down for me and my golf partner.
I would say to anyone to play I however have played it and wont again unfortunately
First impressions when we got there very grand and very welcoming buetiful setting with lovely veiw up the first fairway and of the ninth green.
We got there early to grab a bacon butty and brew before our planned tee time. Waited thirty minutes to find out we had been forgotten about. This was rectified pretty soon after questioning it.
We hired a buggy electronic score card fitted was a very nice touch, and really enjoyed the first few holes, as we got further round the course started to notice a considerable amount of divots on fairways not replaced and not repaired I realise this is players not having consideration however needs adressing.
By the end of the front nine we were behind a two ball that was stuck behind two 4 balls from what I could see and became very stop start. So much so that the gane no longer flowed when we finnished our round we mentioned to a young lad on the front desk area whos response was bellitleing at best, making out that when he plays pro tournaments he takes 5-6 hours to play a round....
This spoiled it for me and as nice as the course is it could do with a marshal just to give people a little prod to replace divots and respect other players.
Very enjoyable round of golf
My friend and I really enjoyed playing at Rufford. The course was in great condition and even though there were quite a few golfers around we managed to get round in good time, without any delays on the tees. The weather was sunny and the course was drying out as we played. The staff in the pro shop and the bar were very friendly and attentive. Overall the experience was very good.
Has this course been moved from Nottinghamshire? This is the best I've played so far this year with staff that make you so welcome. On course amenities are actually superb (in my opinion).
