Outstanding course
Great course, fairways immaculate, greens in great condition, friendly staff, slow play in front of us, 4hrs 20 minutes for a 2 ball! Would recommend course and will visit again
Mediocre At Best
Sampled a number of courses in the Cotswolds (£25-40 green fees) and Rye Hill fell short of the rest.
Early tee time meant the clubhouse was closed on arrival - which is fine, but there’s no box of scorecards outside. So had to record it on the golfshot app. No a huge issue, but something the other courses took care of.
Greens on the front 9 were unbelievably slow, making for an underwhelming start to the round.
A number of holes also had real drainage problems. There was a decent bit of rain during the round, but given the four previous days were blazing sunshine it’s not great that multiple holes had lying water all over them - ball landing in huge puddles on the fairways, tee boxes and greens totally sodden too.
Back nine greens were in better condition and played closer to the expected standard.
The handful of 450ish par 4s might be too far for the average causal golfer to reach in two.
Overall, a fairly challenging and rather long course with a lot of low stroke index holes, but generally disappointing conditions. Not a bad course, just better options available in the same area for the same price. Also no really memorable holes. Generally all much of a muchness.
Excellent afternoon of golf
First time playing , thoroughly enjoyed and recommend.
Great condition , super helpful lady in pro shop.
Challenging holes , forgiving holes and a good long par 72.
Great food after too.
All round great day out.
Welcoming & satisfying in all aspects.
Booking in was friendly and informative regarding course layout . The front 9 holes are a gentle warm-up for the more challenging and undulating back 9 holes which leave you wanting to go round again & again, soaking up this spectacularly scenic course in-between sampling the delights of the bar & restaurant which is table service outside , adhering to current restrictions. Overall a very enjoyable round and recommend to all.
Lovely course
Course layout was great. Although wide fairways lots of ball below or above your feet shot's. Greens were very slow the day I played
Sunday 6th 4 ball stroke play
Great condition although T on the 15 & 16th need flattening out. Otherwise holes on back 9 has some great features.
Nice course
Well maintained course for price. Some challenging holes and lovely views. Hosts extremely friendly and helpful. Signposting to tee boxes not always helpful could be improved. Didn’t appear to be a dress code .
In need of the x factor.
A great clubhouse, with a pointless Pro shop 2 t shirts and a few balls for sale.
A beautiful clubhouse, yet some drinks not available and no food offered despite bring 1pm Saturday
Lovely course, but outside the 15th nothing stands out. Each hole in great condition especially with all the rain but it's just so similar.
As a 16 handicapper it's not like I go looking for trouble but more bunkers or landscaping could be added to make more pleasing to the eye
First time at Rye Hill
Really lovely course, greens were excellent and very challenging. Lady at pro shop took time to talk us round the course as we had not played before. Condition was excellent and its one of those courses where you need every club. This is not just a field with flags but a well designed, well kept challenging course, Will definitely play again
Greens were superb
Haven’t played here for a while but the greens were excellent and ran beautifully. Shame all the bunkers were GUR would have liked to have known this before booking, but otherwise very enjoyable.
A very challenging course in good condition. One improvement that can be made is better signage - directions to the next hole are not very clear and also diagrams of the holes on tees. Enjoyed the game and thought is was good value for money
A pleasure to play
Always nice to play here any time of the year......would be nice if someone came out to see if or who is holding everyone up.
Nice course
Really nice course. Sadly the round was let down by a 4 ball a few groups ahead refusing to allow people to play through and causing a major backlog.
