Cracking course
First time playing here and will be back, quite a tight course you have to be accurate off the tee and caught me out on a few holes but that's part of the game, the course was in fantastic condition fairways looked great and the greens were beautiful, some really nice holes, staff in the shop and bar were really friendly, can't wait to visit again.
Great track
Was told greens had suffered damage and brown, total opposite the greens where fantastic as was the condition of the rest of the course.
Plays Five times.
We have played five time and the course is really starting to get great, bunkers still need a good deep rake but fairways and greens a good. When we first played the 1st fairway was like a trampoline, but that’s all gone. Greens are getting faster and fairways are becoming firm now the rain has gone but they are lush green grass.
Early Summer golf.
Great course now we have got over the rain that came the first five months of the year and the course has dried out. We had lunch and then a game in the afternoon The bar was only serving one beer because the pumps are being changed but I expect that will be sorted very shortly. Overall course is looking good bunkers could do with some work after all the rain but that was not a major issue. We booked on Golf Now and got a Hot Deal which was great value.
My new favourite course
Probably one of the best affordable courses in the area, a lot of challenges and different shaped holes to make it interesting, in such good condition would recommend anyone to come and play.
Going downhill
Very slow pace of play, nearly five hours to play 18 holes. Fairways weren’t bad considering how wet the winter has been.
Greens on the other hand were atrocious. Bare spots and bobbles on a number of holes. Almost impossible to play. Can’t see them recovering this year. As for the rough, you could be confused for thinking it’s a major championship course.
Used to be a really good track. Even at £20 now, it’s not great value. There are municipals locally that are looked after far better.
The new bins are a nice addition though.
Course
Nice to see all holes open and looking good fairways and greens in good condition
Poor condition
This course really should still be closed. Fairways are still very boggy balls not running and plugging, greens are in very poor condition and not sure they’ll recover this year and if you go in the rough just off the fairways forget it don’t bother looking for your ball far to long.
Very disappointing paid £20 and thought that us too much given the condition
Sandhill
Excellent course conditions were very good considering the awful weather we’ve had staff very friendly
Soggy in places, temporary winter tee boxes. 3 holes offline.
Still suffering the effects of the winter rains, with most of the course quite soft, and quite a few areas very soft to boggy, and marked GUR. Greens are ready for some TLC, but overall an average to good course spoilt by the recent weather.
Disappointing
Played Sandhills a few times. Normally a very enjoyable course. Only 11 holes open this time however. No indication the course was only partially open. If we’d have known, we would not have booked.
