Hickleton Golf Club

What a fantastic course great value for money, very raised in some places and epic walk but brilliant course with changing difficulty, exceptionally well looked after for this time of year. Can’t wait to play here again!

Played Hickleton weather was good, course was in great condition, mats on fairways, I’m not sure they were needed, pace was great not many on course. We were off all temporary tees . Looked like main tees were being prepared most looked like they needed grass cutting, greens were ok a bit slow. But with the weather being so wet its hard to prepare them and cut them. We enjoyed our day on a good course. We have played here a few times off season. We had problems with the gate getting in which was very difficult, key pad is a bit rattling to use, we had to ring pro shot to get in.

Great local course wet in places which is not the courses fault enjoyed the round greens were really nice pro shop staff are always so friendly.👍

Course was in great condition, given the amount of rain we’ve had of late. Played from fairway mats and tee mats so no damage to the ground and tees, of which, some were undergoing improvements.

Overall, a great course with excellent facilities.

Well done to the greenkeepers for doing a fantastic job!

Was a little disappointed that 5 holes were out of use due to conditions which I appreciate happens places this time of year and weather we are having but would like to have been aware of this either by club telephoning or messaging me this as only going out on the day and only told by green staff as the pro shop wasn’t open and no signage was displayed on a board or anything but a text the night before may have been nice and an alternative could have been booked or refund to see if I still wanted uk play or a plan to say play several of the holes twice to make up for the closed ones, ripon course contacted me when I played there the morning I was playing stating green maintenance was on and if I still wanted uk attend and if not a refund or alternate date would be available and thirsk could have offered the same service I think but I like the course the price is good but just this biggie spoiled it a tiny bit but I would still play there again it’s a nice course and ground staff and members are very nice people

Groups of 3 on same hole not good which makes slow play ,should let group in front play hole then tee of keeps play apart they had half way house which should be 15 minutes stop there then play will be spread out this made it worse here ,I walked of course cos of play condition.

Good challenging course with a variety of Par’s, making it enjoyable yet exciting to play. Excellent condition and friendly atmosphere - would recommend to players at any level.

We played as a four ball,from the moment we arrived,playing Hickleton golf course was a very pleasurable experience,the staff were very friendly and helpful,and from the first tee to the 18th hole the golf course was in fantastic condition,...a challenging but fair course for golfers of all abilities,...this was our first visit,and it certainly won't be our last,

I’m a 26 HCP and had been warned that this course was tough, but I really enjoyed the round and the interesting layout. No two holes are the same, plenty of fun lines to find. And the condition was brilliant, greens were really quick which tested the putter skills. Overall I’d say it was just tough enough to be a challenge but not so crazy that it’s frustrating. And some of the views are beautiful #yorkshire #godscountry

Lovely course, well cared for and layout keeps it interesting. Fair variety of shot choices to be made from most tees.

Review was nearly much poorer as a member in the group behind hit their shot dangerously close to me despite me being yet to ring the fairway bell and they knew I was following another 4 ball so should have been aware I was stood waiting for the green to clear.

Captain was in the group in front, he apologised, spoke to the player and I teamed up with another couple of members to play with for a while who were very helpful and good company.

Excellent course. Beautiful setting and great layout. Good level of challenge and very friendly members.

First time played loved everything. Course in great condition, some great holes and greens were amazing.

Visited Hickleton GC on 27 April 2025. My first experience of playing the course. It was thoroughly enjoyable round of golf in every sense: the course was impeccably presented and the greens in pristine condition. Playing solo, I expected to wait behind groups ahead - yet this was shortlived with every fourball ahead allowing me to play through without hesitation.

I hope to return this year when I have more time to make use of the Range and Practice area and lovely situated club house.
