Poor greens
Exceptional location
Fairways and first cut spot on.
Greens very disappointing. Overall though a lovely course to tackle. Rate of play was really poor.
Great Location
Sapey is always a joy to play and everyone is really friendly. The only issue we experienced was the lack of sand in the bunkers, but apart from that would highly recommend for a visit.
Beautiful course set in the Herefordshire countryside
Lovely course with lots of tree lined fairways and greens. Some challenging greens but overall just a really pleasant golf course to play. Looking forward to returning in the near future.
Recommend Sapey For a Visit
We always enjoy the experience of playing at Sapey and always receive a friendly welcome from all.
The course is a joy to play most of the year, but it had been very inclement prior to us playing and hence the course was quite wet in places.
Don't let the weather comment put you off, this is a must play course.
Overpriced
I have played Sapey many times before and the allure has always been the value for money and the course conditions. Unfortunately today the price was £44 as a visitor or £32 as a members guest and the course conditions didn't reflect the cost.
Firstly the pace of play was very slow as they seemed to try and stack as many people to play as possible.
Secondly I was surprised the course was even open as the majority of the course was waterlogged.
Thirdly the club allowed buggies which will definitely cause more harm to the course for the future when weather improves.
Finally I am unsure on what the club are trying to do. It seems they have gone from being well respected and welcoming to visitors while having a strong membership. Now it seems the price increases and lack of respect for the course conditions will negatively impact both playing members and visitors in the future.
Lovely course
Played here 6 times before always enjoy , you can see the improvement s from new ownership. Well kitted out pro shop friendly staff and great views of the course from the bar. Considering how wet it’s been the course was in great shape , the par 3 s are excellent.. course keep s You thinking all the way. Looking forward to coming back.
Always recommended
Considering the time o year the course condition is good overall.
The greens are very good and will be in pristine condition as we head towards summer.
Always a friendly welcome from all and a very welcoming club to play golf and relax before and after your round.
Pretty course
Some long par 4s and 5 nice par 3s, a few water holes to challenge , greens were OK but have played on better.
The course was in good condition
Another enjoyable day at Sapey Golf Club. The course was in good condition bearing in mind all at the recent rain.
Always made to feel welcome by all and happy to oblige with a requested earlier tee time.
Immaculate course - enjoyable round
As a visitor I received a warm welcome. The course is in peak condition, not soggy which is surprising after all the recent rain which is a tribute to the greenkeeper and staff. Hardly any mud balls! Got round on my own with no hold ups. The course plays longer this time of year so I took an extra club. Really enjoyed it. Thanks to all.
Society day
Excellent day at Sapey GC today. Staff were excellent from the very start although we had less numbers than expected - thank you.
We had heavy rain leading up to the day and the morning of. The course held up very well and dried out nicely. Nice to see green Staff working on the course during our round, keeping it neat and tidy, was nice to see.
Tees, fairways and greens were in very good condition, with greens running very true. Signage to next tees was very good, although there was a lack of 150 yard markers on the side of fairways [markers in the fairways].
Some very good holes, notably the 8th,9th 11th and 17th.
Upon coming back in for a pint all players said they would definitely play it again. That says it all.
Excellent, Sapey GC a very enjoyable day.
Great course slow play
Great course , great conditions unfortunately we were stuck behind a 4 ball mixed competition who wouldn’t let us through though they were holding the whole course up

Another great day at Sapey Golf Club.
Staff very obliging and advised we could start earlier than our original tee time.
The only slight point of concern is a few stones in bunkers and some bunkers would benefit from additional sand, but apart from that the course is in really good condition heading towards the Autumn.
