Course closed
Drove for an hour to get there to find out the course was closed ! Not really a sorry from the staff just ‘ it says closed on the website’ . I told them and showed them you was still able to book through hold now.
A picturesque rural course with some quite challenging holes.
With two friends, I had a good round of golf in beautiful wooded countryside, not the greatest clubhouse in the country but perfectly adequate.
They don’t care about the golf course
So we played this course about 3/4 years ago and although it wasn’t the best it certainly wasn’t the worst so we thought why not let’s give it another shot.
Wow… it is no longer an 18 hole course… you can tell where the other 9 holes used to be but they’re under 6ft of grass now so you play the same front 9 twice. NOWHERE TELLS YOU THIS UNTIL YOU PLAY! The holes that they have left are not in great condition, a lot of dead grass on the fairway despite the weather being a good mix of rain and sunshine the last few weeks, the greens have patches of dead and dying grass on them and so do the fairways but there is no GUR anywhere. They have watered the greens but so much so they are waterlogged despite it being 28c out today so the greens are very slow and the tee boxes don’t look like they have had much care or attention for a while. It is pretty obvious from the modern looking facilities of the holiday homes on the site that there is where their attention lies and the golf course gets whatever budget is left over. Will not be playing again, very disappointing. One image I have uploaded (with the text on it) shows the state of the fairway on the 2nd/11th and the other photo is looking down from what is now the par 3 hole you play 4 times
VERY SAD
This stunningly beautiful 18 hole course has been reduced to a very sad shadow of its former self.
I first played Little Lakes back in the early 80's when it was a very basic 9 hole and saw it it developed into an outstanding and very challenging 18 course and have returned many times and always enjoyed and admired the course condition and wonderful variety of challenges with no hole the same.
On Saturday we arrived to find ourselves directed after the 8th green to a plastic tee to the new 9th and the end of the round and the realisation that all of the wonderful 2nd 9 holes had been abandoned.
Added to this was that the wide fringes of the fairways had been mowed but the cut grass was left on the surfaces, meaning any ball not on the fairway was too often impossible to find as it was hidden below deep dead grass.
Farewell Little Lakes
Enjoyed this club
An interestingly laid out course, with helpful and friendly staff. I’ve booked in to play next week as well
What have they done?
This was once lovely course and a bargain on Groupon! Now they’ve lost 9 holes and use the 3rd three times for a round of 18 holes it’s been completely and utterly ruined! So disappointing as it was once a lovely place to play and a real treat with so many different types of holes to play!!! Won’t be visiting again anytime soon
Course has been ruined
The condition of the course was diabolical and the new 9th hole they've installed is absolute garbage. I'm quite dismayed with how they've taken a really good 18 hole golf course and flushed it down the pan. I would just avoid and go to Wharton Park or Bewdley Pines instead.
18 holes reduced to 9
the golf course has reduced the number of holes to nine. the staff working there told us that the back nine holes where no longer being used and all flags had been removed. we played the front nine but the course was in terrible condition, dont book here
Wet but open
Friendly staff but most of course was wet so didn't help - just about playable. Greens good and excellent bunkers so here's to the green keepers, they were so much better than Sapey week before.
Good test and enjoyable.
Course Closed, Ideal!!
Let me book on GolfNow. When we turned up they had closed the course, course looked fine. Cost me taxi fare to get to another course where we still couldn't play. Thanks Golfnow/Littlelakes.
Great Value
Bunkers looked good fortunately I managed to keep out of them.
Shocking condition for this time of year.
Played here for the first time in 4 years.
Can't believe the condition of the course. All fairway bunkers are GUR. Bare lies all over the fairways. Greens are 4/10 at best. The fact they charge £28 per round to play this is a joke. Only good thing about it was the course was empty . Maybe if they charged less to attract more people they might generate enough money to spend some on the course. Shame as it used to be a lot better.
Excellent
Course was in great condition but not many people playing
