Worst Greens
Quite possibly the worst greens in the country,, and still charging full price for the ball to take 45 bobbles on the way to the hole. More like crazy golf.
Greens were in bad condition
A good number of the holes were in poor condition, large chunks missing like they had been run over in a vehicle
Also, was stuck behind a four ball of senior golfers. There were ample opportunity to allow my two ball to play through
Friendly Course
Some greens were in need of some significant attention, but all in all very good experience for winter golf round.
Would not rush back
The gentleman in the pro shop was very welcoming and friendly but unfortunately thats as far as the positives go for this course.
The fairways were more like the himalayas amd the greens were the worst iv seen. Iv played at places where the rough was in better condition than the greens at this place.
So we won't be rushing back anytime soon
Pleasantly suprised
First time back at Springhead for a number of years and was pleasantly surprised how well the course looked and played. I was warned by Mark in the ticket office that they were suffering from crows pecking insects out the green but flags were placed away from the damage and it never effected the round. The fairways were remarkably dry for this time of year with all 18 holes open with no temporary greens.
Very good and fully worth the money
Gordon is your first port of call always friendly and pleasant books you in and your away course is looking very good for this time of the year
Value for money
Good course layout, well kept throughout. No issues at all, friendly member of staff.
Father & Son
Had a great day my son and I. Weather held out. Lovely course.
Guy in the shop was a hero too, loaning us some oil to stop a squeaky wheel before play... Proper hero, cheers paL.
Not very cheap or cheerful
Layout is okay and the tree lined holes give the course an established feel. However course maintenance is poor, greens are always patchy and fairways not properly maintained. Also think the green fees are way overpriced especially for a weekend, given the state of the place.
A lot of the fairways are bumpy and have horrible ridges which just punish good tee shots. Wouldn’t rush back.
Springhead is a nice corse, for a quick game, after last years rain the corse is good, a shame of the humps in the fairway tho, but I always enjoy it there
Great old fashioned course
A parkland course with mostly generous fairways, large greens plenty of bunkers and the odd water hazard. Condition was good overall and it is easy to see the work being done to maintain standards. The rippled fairways typical in the East Riding a challenging feature. Friendly staff, great value.
Course has issue's
3rd time playing at springhead but unfortunately today we were held up of 4 holes dues to grass getting cut on fairway by tractor up and down , 4 greens were getting watered so soaking wet .
Decent course, greens poor
Overall enjoyable day at Springhead, a well established tree lined parkland course. The course was fairly decent but undergoing a fair bit of work. The greens had been pinned just before we played and were bit patchy. The fairways were also being irrigated to prevent flooding, pooling.
Will try again in a month or so see what improvements have happened. Can’t complain much for the price paid thought. Give it a go.
Due to wet weather still a lot of bare patches of ground on the fairways. Bunkers in good condition. Some of the greens need a lot of attention. Overall value for money, will play again.
No great
Greens and fairways need a lot of TLC, long cut grass on fairways and first cut.
Shouldn't be open yet.
1st time playing this course, even though it's local to me. Went as a two ball and got straight off. We where warned it was a bit boggy in places due to the rain. And even though there was rain overnight it shouldn't have caused big puddles on the course and horrendously boggy conditions.
Due to the recent weather the fairways and first cut where ridiculously long due to not been able to get the cutters out on the course for weeks, plus the hilly fairways just held water in the bottom. In my opinion the course should have remained closed til it could be cut properly and not rushed the opening.
