Stapleford Abbotts Golf Club - Abbotts Course

Second time playing the course. Nothing to complain about here. in super condition friendly staff and even tried the Indian after the round which was very nice to. Will definitely be playing here again.

Played on a Saturday morning in a 3 ball. Course was busy with mainly 4 balls but there were no real hold ups and no backing up on tees. Despite very heavy overnight rain course was in good condition. Course marshal was visible during round and staff very friendly. A very enjoyable round and will be back.

Nice flat course with generous fairways but bunkers not kept well

Nice course, not too long off yellows, but good challenge for average golfer. Could do with more sand in bunkers.

Course was in general in good condition although the greens ran a bit on the slow side, however due to the current dry spell it did assist with holding when approaching them. There were a few areas on the course which were patchy, some due to ongoing works. The pace of play was reasonable but slowed up considerably towards the back end of the round and on busier days this could be a problem throughout. Off course facilities were good and staff friendly and provided a quick and efficient service.

Lots of different hole types and all greens are immaculate. Only let down was waiting around to tee off due to a high volume of players.

Would 100% play the course again

Lovely selection of holes, well maintained. Took 6 hours for a 2 ball which is ridiculous. 4 ball members and novices refused to either speed up or let our group and many others play through, got to know other groups of golfers rather well as we we’re queuing on every tee for about 10 minutes. Staff member on buggy tried to improve situation but to no avail. I would play again as course was challenging with water and dog legs but completely avoid weekends.

Good course green grass a little long small green areas so expect them too be well maintained lack of recent rainfall has made them hard same for fairways fair price for the round unfortunately due too COVID didn’t get the chance too experience the clubhouse but it looked nice would play again

Pace of play was poor waited on every hole 4 hours 45 minutes is far too long

Slowest game of golf we have ever played. I understand it was busy but both the groups in front of us were taking multiple tee-shots on almost every hole.

Early season course condition good, pace of play good. Staff friendly, cost about right for 10.30 Tee Time. SA runs a loyalty scheme play 5 rounds get the 6th free,

Having seen previous reviews about very slow play and overcrowding I was a bit concerned when I booked. Thankfully they now have a starter/course marshal and there were no queues at the first tee. We were a 2 ball and behind another 2 ball who were quite slow but kindly let us play through after 4 holes and there were no more hold ups for the rest of the round. There was nobody immediately behind us either. Course was in excellent condition with true slick greens and fairways cut nicely short. Only shame was due to Covid the clubhouse facilities were understandably not available. Overall though, a very enjoyable round and very good value.
