Stapleford Abbotts Golf Club - Abbotts Course

Saturday the 26th of April with a 10.12am tee time

This was the first time any of us three had played here and first impression of driving in was good plenty of parking spaces which is always helpful.

On arrival at the check in we was greeted by a lovely lady and when i told her our booking she informed us that the price was cheaper than what we booked online and was actually five pounds less.

The round with a full English breakfast and a trolley was only 41 pounds and the breakfast was absolutely lovely.

Anyway now to the golf our tee time was 10.12am and we teed of on time play was a bit slow due to a men's competition going on in front of us but it didn't spoil our round.

Plenty of water around the course which was nice and the fairways were in good condition.

The Greens were ok except one of them which was vandalised by a motorbike (idiots).

Finished our round and headed back for a much needed pint of beer which again was lovely and cold and not to expensive at five pounds a pint of lager which we took outside to drink as the weather was lovely.

Another very good touch was the lady that greeted us on our arrival came over and gave us a plate of Sandwiches and said she had made too many but was very nice of her to offer these to us which we gladly accepted and they were top notch.

I would not hesitate to come back here and we will again in the next month or so without any hesitation at all.

Very good course and great staff you will not be disappointed playing here and one of the best courses for value for money.

Good course with a good layout. Unfortunately this time round it looked like some do as you likey's have been on a couple of greens on their motor bikes but these marks are being repaired and it's no normal for this course. I have played this course many times and I think it's great fun. Would definitely recommend.

What you don't know when you book was the reason it was cheap was that the greens had been topsoiled which were told when we arrived. Even if they weren't topsoiled they were in a pretty poor condition generally.

The rest of the course was very nice and the greens were improved we would come back.

Could be a really good course with varied hole layouts and some nice water features, but the greens were virtually unplayable, really uneven and covered in sand patches, some looked like they had been vandalised, not a mention of this when we checked in?

For 25 handicappers this was a very enjoyable round. Fair fairways but lots of water. Greens had been hollow tined but were still ok and quite fast. Had a couple of pints and a lovely fry up in the quaint clubhouse after,

A cheeky round for two… empty course, in good nick… greens sadly not 100% and one been ruined by motorbike idiots but all in all a great round…. Tough enough…. Most enjoyable walk around although bar shuts at 6!!! Never mind, save my liver!! Thanks for a great round

Went out at 7.38am, and had nobody in front of us that we could see, so we controlled the pace of the play.

I get greens need maintenance on them, but every hole we played had been worked on, and were covered in sand, which made putting almost impossible.

Played here a few time last year, but at £25 a round, with greens like this, I'll be playing at other courses on the Golf Now app

Played a golf society at Stapleford abbotts 28 February, course in good nick considering the terrible weather we’ve had recently. A big thank you to Sam max and Jess for making our day run smoothly and for the very warm welcome we received, the fish and chips was excellent, have already booked another society there for the summer . Got a 12 o clock tee time for £20 . Value for money is good , course is lovely in the summer . Heavy rain mad it unplayable on most holes and pace of play was shocking , 5 hour round and finished in the dark !

Shouldn’t allow buggies or trollies to at least march!

Despite the time of year all the tees were grass (no mats) and all the greens were open (no temporaries.

2 fairways were a bit marshy in places but overall things were good.

The staff are lovely and the ham, egg & chips excellent!

First time I've played here. I enjoyed it. The layout is good and it represents good value for money. However, several of the fairways were very muddy. The greens held up very well. I'll play here again but not in the winter

Very much enjoyed recently.cant wait to experience in the summer

Very slow pace with multiple 4 balls stacked up, 18 holes took 5 hours and lost sunlight at the end. Handful of golfers behind us walked off.

Poor management by the golf club… only after the £££

Course is always in good condition and although quite flat has a number of holes with water to add a degree of difficulty.

Pace is generally good but one complaint is the presence of dog's and dog walkers who wander around oblivious to golfers trying to play.

The season and weather has changed since I last played here but the course is still in fantastic condition.

Nothing at all to complain about and can't wait to play again

When I played the course earlier on the year it was a bit sad. The greens and bunkers were not the best. Roll on a few months and the course is so much better. The clubhouse is under going a transformation and the whole place is looking up I assume because of the new owner.

Overall this is a great course. It was cut well, maintained & overall just feels nice.

A change to the toilets and some signs to the actual pro shop/club house would be nice (they share the land and you have to walk around the back of a gym/restaurant. But overall a great round.

Hadn’t played there in a couple of years got a good deal still a great challenging course
