Great value
Had a lovely breakfast which, including the golf was £24. Sam, Maxine and all the staff were very friendly and gave great service. Good choice of drinks on offer with a nice cold draft pint afterwards going down well.
The course is not as immaculate as some others but there are plenty of interesting holes with the tees and greens in good condition.
Value for money Parkland course
Enjoyable 3 ball, fairways good, green’s were hard and bouncy, not top notch but improved on the last time we played here.
Needs more attention
This course is a good challenge but has now started to become unloved or out of cash.
Tees not cut ( it was like teeing off from the rough ).
Hardly any sand in the bunkers and just generally the course looks scruffy. Shame as in previous years it’s been a nicely maintained course.
Good course
First time playing this course. Was a Sunday afternoon and was dead quiet. Layout is good and the course is very challenging with all the water. Especially for a high handicapper like myself. Would definitely go back to redeem myself and find some of my balls ha
Below par greens
Greens were firm with lumps and bobbles, difficult to putt on and couldn’t hold a wedge on the greens, patchy and long
Great little club
Played here a few times now, always friendly, really enjoy the course, some lovely holes.
Wet. Wet. Wet!!
I booked in advance to take my grandson on a “proper” course. I asked at 7am how the course was playing as there had been rain recently. I was assured the course drainage was good and it was playing well. It hadn’t rained overnight so we set off expecting a nice round. Very disappointed to find the course was very wet- under water in places- bunkers like ponds.
My first drive was arrow straight (unusual) and plugged wasn’t close to describing the lie. If we were playing ‘pick and place’ we needed trowels to retrieve our balls after most tee shots. Be honest with your customers and we would have postponed. Now we’re unlikely to return.
Compliments to the Greenkeeper
I was critical of the greens here last summer when they were underwatered but playing here this week I was very impressed with their condition, considering the time of year and the rainfall. Hopefully in the spring the bunkers can receive some attention.
Fantastic course, slow play again...
Second time I've played here. Been a really wet week so trolleys on paths etc..but despite that wonderful condition and really well looked after. The staff are fantastic all around the site. Probably the best course in the area.
However.
On both occasions I've played there we've been stuck behind lady members going incredibly slow. I have no issue with people learning, we've all been there, and it's great to see new people on the course, but let better players through. Every single hole was on the tee box and they'd be barely 50 yards down the fairway hacking away at it. Happened last time I played here too. There is a course marshall so no idea why he wasn't telling them to get over. It's courtesy, even if you are a member.
Will definitely play again as it's amazing venue.
Excellent value
Weather was terrible all week before, but considering this the course was in amazing condition, no temporary greens or winter tees. Great value for money
Value for money!
A great tight course with some very challenging holes! Great value for the money to play 18 holes.
Bargain Price
Where could you enjoy a round on Saturday morning for £20? Decent layout with plenty of room. Each hole had its own challenge. Greens suffering a bit due to winter but not unexpected this time of year and recent weather. Happy to play this course again in the future.
Great and challenging layout
Nice course but scruffy , realise the weather is challenging but other courses definitely spend a bit more time in the upkeep
Bunkers got to be the worst by far
The course is a lively layout and tight and challenging
Hopefully they get it back to how it used to be
