Where could you enjoy a round on Saturday morning for £20? Decent layout with plenty of room. Each hole had its own challenge. Greens suffering a bit due to winter but not unexpected this time of year and recent weather. Happy to play this course again in the future.
Great and challenging layout
Nice course but scruffy , realise the weather is challenging but other courses definitely spend a bit more time in the upkeep
Bunkers got to be the worst by far
The course is a lively layout and tight and challenging
Hopefully they get it back to how it used to be
The greens have recovered really well from the summer and were quite firm. The course is quite well drained. The only factor that let it down were youngsters shouting walking about with dogs on the last few holes. Dangerous and annoying. No signs of marshalls anywhere on the course. Apart from this it was a pleasant round.
A Brilliant Day
Played this morning (17/11/23) and had a brilliant day. The course was in excellent condition - no mats on the tees here - and the greens were great. Lost a couple of balls under the carpet of leaves but that’s unfortunate. I really wish all visitors (and members?) would remember to replace divots and repair pitch marks on the greens as the green keepers have obviously worked hard to keep the course in good condition. The buggy path all round the course really helps to enable those of us with less mobility to still play in the wet conditions we have experienced recently.
A big shout out also to the great staff in the clubhouse, particularly Sam and Max who are welcoming and friendly and seemed genuinely pleased that we visited their course this morning. I’m happy to recommend playing here to my friends and can honestly say you won’t find a better deal for this money anywhere nearby.
Thanks team and look forward to seeing you again.
Excellent staff
The Steffens were so friendly and accommodating especially the two blonde ladies who we’re friendly and accommodating have booked our Xmas society day there as the food was great and the staff made us feel welcome
Great course, for little money
Played here today for the second time. After the torrential rain we’ve had I was expecting the course to be almost unplayable. To my surprise, it was anything but. We used a buggy, as I have some mobility issues. Buggies allowed all year round, in winter use cart path, then drive across the fairway at 90 degrees. Green were very good for the conditions and at only £15 per round it is unbelievable value . Sam, & Max in the clubhouse make your visit even more enjoyable with their caring nature, and relaxed attitude. Some courses can be quite stuffy, but not here. We will definitely be returning in the future. A must try
Decent for the price
For £22.50 it was definitely worth it, greens look like they are on the mend. It’s hard to book an early morning slot on a weekend unless you are a member somewhere so this course is decent as there’s always slots!
Great course
Highly recommendable great course. Very friendly staff
Very good course friendly staff
The course was very nice, well kept, staff were very friendly reasonable prices. Would highly recommend we’ll established course
Not great..
Took 3 hours to play 11 holes in a 2 ball. Greens were very poor, couldn’t tell them from the fairway, with bobbles all over.
Wouldn’t play here again unless I was really desperate!
Spoilt by feral kids harassing us!
The price was good at £11 per person, the course could be so much better with a little TLC the greens were very patchy, so it was hit and hope! The course is well set out and a challenge.
There were lots of people roaming the course with their dogs and not really caring that people were trying to play a round of golf! on the 16th hole 3 boys appeared and started asking us to have a go with our clubs, we politely said no and they then picked up our balls on the green an threw them and hurled abuse at us! At this stage we decided to end our round and leave.
The boys followed us to the clubhouse! we left promptly! A sad way to end the round!
Value for money, greens in poor condition.
Good value at £12th 18 holes, course in good condition apart from the greens that were being treated with dye type chemicals and no warnings displayed, Greens very uneven with patchy wear.
Just a great course
Played fairly regularly at Abbott's for many years, it has a nice layout with plenty of challenging holes without getting to silly for the average 'bogey' golfer. The course is usually kept in good order, and has reasonably priced green fees, especially during the week.
The staff in the clubhouse are very friendly and food & drinks are always available.
