Good Value
Played on a Sunday morning, weather was good. Got paired with another 2 ball, great guys. Course was in good condition, greens were running quick. Bunkers were a bit shallow but you’re meant to avoid them so can’t complain. Overall, great value for money, will defo go again
The greens are very patchy with moss and little bit bobbly
Not a good as I thought
As one of the course on my list I needed to tick off this was one of them but I can safely say it’ll be the last. The course was not in great condition and needed watering to bring some parts back to life. Various places looked worn and tired, in actual fact the whole place looked worn and tired. Having spent only £10.99 on a golf now deal I would contend that this should be the overall fee as you couldn’t be expected to pay anything else as you would certainly be out of pocket for what you get. It’s not the best course I’ve played and would put it in the same category as Lee Valley. A great place to learn golf but I wouldn’t invite my friends
This is a great course!
Always love playing here it’s a fantastic course and such good value for money. I don’t want to write a long post but rest assured this place takes care of all your golfing needs and ticks every box !
Great value
Have played here twice now in the last month or so. Course in good Nick. Some tee areas could do with some tlc and a few of the greens were a bit patchy/slow. But over all I’d say it’s fantastic value for money and a real test. We paid £18 for a real good round. That’s public course money. Will deffo be back again. Ps. Did help the fact that I hit a good score lol
Sort the Bunkers
My only gripe is the bunkers . The greens are in good nick and plenty of grass on the fairways. Good putting chipping green and a couple of nets. The course layout is very good. The staff are always friendly and the breakfast is very good. The cheapest round in essex.
Abbots
Course in good condition, greens didn’t seem too receptive maybe that was down to my approach shots . Not too busy for a Friday afternoon which was great . The attached Indian restaurant served us a very nice tikka wrap with a beer which was most welcomed as the golf club had no bar facility. Overall a good afternoon.
Great little track
Fantastic value and in very good condition.
Good food and great atmosphere in and out of club house.
Always a nice round
I always enjoy playing this place. It's a little sad to see it not quite at the standards it was in the past now it has a lot of pay and play traffic rather than members, but it's still an enjoyable place to spend a few hours golfing. Interesting layout, nice variety of holes with several doglegs you really need to think about. Greens were very long yesterday and raised a little around the cups but I would think this is down to it being mid-week and a lot of rain about recently. Similar story with the bunkers which were like 'that bit of the beach just above the tide mark' and wrecked my first hole trying to work out how to approach playing out of them. Don't want to knock the place though, for £15pp, bargain.
Best Value
Easily one of the nicest courses for the price. I will be a regular from today.
Lovely Course
Enjoyed the golf, went to the clubhouse after the round and it was closed at 5:30pm on Saturday. Was hoping for a nice beer in the sunshine.
Enjoyable
Great day out, course in good condition with some very challenging holes, only complaints are the greens need water and the bunkers have no sand in them which makes life very difficult! I’m told they have problems with watering the greens and my playing partner noticed no sprinklers anywhere? Still very enjoyable and personally I think they do well with what they can.
