Stapleford Abbotts Golf Club - Abbotts Course

Played a golf society at Stapleford abbotts 28 February, course in good nick considering the terrible weather we’ve had recently. A big thank you to Sam max and Jess for making our day run smoothly and for the very warm welcome we received, the fish and chips was excellent, have already booked another society there for the summer . Got a 12 o clock tee time for £20 . Value for money is good , course is lovely in the summer . Heavy rain mad it unplayable on most holes and pace of play was shocking , 5 hour round and finished in the dark !

Shouldn’t allow buggies or trollies to at least march!

Despite the time of year all the tees were grass (no mats) and all the greens were open (no temporaries.

2 fairways were a bit marshy in places but overall things were good.

The staff are lovely and the ham, egg & chips excellent!

First time I've played here. I enjoyed it. The layout is good and it represents good value for money. However, several of the fairways were very muddy. The greens held up very well. I'll play here again but not in the winter

Decent course with great staff.

Very slow pace with multiple 4 balls stacked up, 18 holes took 5 hours and lost sunlight at the end. Handful of golfers behind us walked off.

Poor management by the golf club… only after the £££

Course is always in good condition and although quite flat has a number of holes with water to add a degree of difficulty.

Pace is generally good but one complaint is the presence of dog's and dog walkers who wander around oblivious to golfers trying to play.

The season and weather has changed since I last played here but the course is still in fantastic condition.

Nothing at all to complain about and can't wait to play again

When I played the course earlier on the year it was a bit sad. The greens and bunkers were not the best. Roll on a few months and the course is so much better. The clubhouse is under going a transformation and the whole place is looking up I assume because of the new owner.

Overall this is a great course. It was cut well, maintained & overall just feels nice.

A change to the toilets and some signs to the actual pro shop/club house would be nice (they share the land and you have to walk around the back of a gym/restaurant. But overall a great round.

Hadn’t played there in a couple of years got a good deal still a great challenging course

My first time playing this course, my friend had played the course before. The greens were well maintained and the staff were friendly as well. The course has some interesting features , bunkers and ponds ! that will challenge your game. The speed of play on our visit was also good on the day.

Had a lovely round on Saturday..it's always challenging and easy to lose a few shots if you go off target..the staff are super friendly and the ladies on Saturday in the Bar area definitely need a Bonus after working so hard due to staff sickness..will definitely play again..hope they fix the loo soon !

I have played here a few times recently and have really enjoyed it. I played with my Son ( He beat me) and we hired a buggy as he had blisters from his football at the weekend. We started off really well but sadly we caught up with a three ball in front who were slowed down by a four ball in front of them and then we had a two ball in a buggy on our tail so nowhere to go... all in all a very enjoyable day and we will definitely play there again as the Staff are so friendly and its reasonably flat of we use a Trolley next time.

Played on a Sunday morning, weather was good. Got paired with another 2 ball, great guys. Course was in good condition, greens were running quick. Bunkers were a bit shallow but you’re meant to avoid them so can’t complain. Overall, great value for money, will defo go again

The greens are very patchy with moss and little bit bobbly

As one of the course on my list I needed to tick off this was one of them but I can safely say it’ll be the last. The course was not in great condition and needed watering to bring some parts back to life. Various places looked worn and tired, in actual fact the whole place looked worn and tired. Having spent only £10.99 on a golf now deal I would contend that this should be the overall fee as you couldn’t be expected to pay anything else as you would certainly be out of pocket for what you get. It’s not the best course I’ve played and would put it in the same category as Lee Valley. A great place to learn golf but I wouldn’t invite my friends

Always love playing here it’s a fantastic course and such good value for money. I don’t want to write a long post but rest assured this place takes care of all your golfing needs and ticks every box !
