Lovely course good value for price .
Haven’t played over her for a while course is in lovely condition staff very friendly and food great. Great value for money.
Some recovery after lack of watering but some way to go.
Following the lack of watering of the greens in mid summer, there has been some improvement due to the recent rain. However, there does seem to be a lack of seeding taking place to repair the damage. Now would be the ideal time to do this with the weather still warm. The bunkers have improved due to some work on them.
Requires TLC
Overall the course is ok, with some interesting holes. If it’s your first time or haven’t played for there for a long time, course layout is key on a number of holes.
The course is generally in good shape expect the greens need some TLC and some attention and the bunkers we found where in most part firm to hard.
A little bit of attention and the course would be worth recommending, but there are several nearby for similar prices that are in better condition.
Nice little course
Nice course. Some nice features, well established trees and a few water hazards added a challenge, and attract many a deer.
Nothing spectacular, but everything was nicely kept. Greens were a bit slow for the conditions and time of year and the bunkers are a bit light on sand. But for the cost I would definitely come back again.
Little bit disappointed there was no food being served on a Friday afternoon, but there weren’t many people on the course so probably fair enough.
Enjoyed my visit
Great value
This was a good round. The value for money £15 each for a 0813 tee time on a Friday is great value.
The course is nice and the holes are a challenge.
As from some of the other reviews the greens need a bit or work and care but didn’t affect our round.
Rest of the course was ok.
Could be a great course with some Money spent on it
Course and greens are in very poor condition
I’ve played this course many times in the past and always found it very good. But on Sunday the grass was uncut - even the Tee boxes were too long. The greens had sand all over them and lots of bare patches. Something has gone badly wrong at this course in the last month or so.
The course is good value for money, apart from the greens. It is a shame that they were so badly neglected in mid summer through lack of watering. This has resulted in them being bare and patchy now, with heavy sanding needed.
I would like to continue playing here but the irrigation must be improved.
Attention required
I have been playing this course for a long time, and has always been well kept and good value for £25/ 15 on a Friday but in the last 6 months it has deteriorated to a point where £15 is not value for money any more. Hope there are plans to bring it back to its former glory but it won’t be playable soon if the condition keeps getting worse on and around the greens.
Decent course let down by terrible green conditions
A good course design but the state of the greens right now is unplayable. Smoother grass/better conditions on the fairways vs the greens
Stapleford abbots golf voarse
It is by far the worst golf coarse I have ever played on,the greens was uncountable, due to being left to dry for to king all cracked, and around the greens on the fringe was awful, will never go here again as apawling
We have been playing at Stapleford Abbots weekly this summer. The greens have been in good condition and it has been excellent value for money. However, in the past few weeks the greens and the fringes have deteriorated and in places are now badly cracked. They need to be more regularly watered.
Course very dry, not been watered at all including the greens, no markers to advise where next tee is and certainly needed for some holes if first occasion playing. The layout of the course is very good it just seems that they have given up on the maintenance etc. which is a shame as I imagine this would play amazing if kept well
Value for money
18 holes after 12 noon offer is value for money, course was well presented, fairways and second cut, greens were a little dry and hard to stop the ball near the pin, good course layout with tees close to previous greens.
Will play again
