Top Course
Excellent day spent on a course that has improved so much since I last played many years ago.
Everything was exceptional apart from the guy behind the bar at the end did not give a friendly vibe which put a damper on the overall day.
Golf outing
I have always liked playing at Sutton Green G.C it's a super layout unfortunately me and my brother Tony's visit there 28/2/2025 was a very forgettable one as the course was so muddy and squishy we couldn't wait to get off the course which was such a shame as I normally play there in the summer months when course conditions are so much better however that will be our last visit there gutted as I love the course as a whole but that is the worst I have ever seen the course.🥴👎
Not bad track but…….
Not bad course but was it worth the money for a weekend t time. There is no range, some nets to hit into but not really knowing where your ball going. A little putting green near the first t and that was it for warm up.
The course not bad, quite flat, very open but does not play well when wet. Very muddy, feet were getting sucked into ground at times but that’s expected due to water level around the course. Overall feel would be nice course in the dry and sunshine and does have challenging holes but would not want to pay near £50 for a round when I have cheaper and reasonable courses local to me
Poor
Disappointing round.
Course is in terrible condition - no fairways to speak of, very wet and muddy. Ongoing repairs to various parts of the course and greens poor. I’ve played this course before and had moderate expectations accordingly, but it was in far worse condition than expected.
Pace of play was awful - we got the first tee time after a members’ competition and had to wait on every tee - the standard of the competition was appalling. Not ideal on a cold day.
Icing on the cake is being charged £55 for a round - I wouldn’t pay half that to play a course in this condition. No offer of a discounted winter rate. Won’t be returning.
Good course for winter golf
A few wet areas and a couple of small sections of fairways roped off for repair. I like to see that they are trying to look after the course. Good news considering some courses are closed or carry only.
Greens in great shape for this time of year
Not for £50
Course and clubhouse need a bit more attention to be worth £50 in November. Very wet and bunkers are all out of action. If we’d paid £25-35 might get a different reaction. Must be tough in Surrey with the competition, but the county alone shouldn’t dictate the price.
Enjoyable course with friendly staff
Played Sutton Green for the first time along with 5 others on Friday.
Started with a friendly welcome from the bloke in the pro shop who came out and talked us through the unknowns.
Overall it’s a decent layout with plenty of variation. Not a fan of the long holes with tiny narrow landing areas (1st & 9th) but for November the condition of the course was excellent.
Hopefully Sutton Green stays open and they continue to offer reasonable green fees.
Good Course
Surprisingly good availability compared to others in the area the weekend we played. It was a wet week in lead up to playing but overall in good condition despite a few bunkers being filled with water. Pace of play was very good.
Very enjoyable round
We played on Aug BH Monday. Very warm welcome in the pro shop (and everywhere else). Offered to go off earlier which suited us. Course was in very good condition. The greens appeared to have recovered well from the maintenance work. A few 'quirky' holes but overall the design is great. We'll play some of them slightly differently next time. Both my playing partner and I felt it was great value for money. The staff made it feel like nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommended
Played on a Friday afternoon - course was quiet and pace of play was great as a result. Course in top condition, lush fairways and greens were rolling true and well paced throughout. It’s a parkland course so fairly flat but with some interesting holes and good use of water and natural undulations. Pro shop friendly, overall value almost unmatched in this area in my opinion. Clubhouse nice, food good and great value.
Will certainly be returning!
Reliably great course
Played here a bunch of times and love the course. It is usually great value for money and consistently kept in great condition all year round. Staff are very friendly and helpful too
Sutton Green July 2024
This is a lovely course in Surrey. Looking particularly green and lush thanks to the terrible English weather.
The greens in particular are in excellent condition.
It's not an easy course, but what you would expect from a high calibre course.
Tends to be pretty quiet in the afternoon.
Good layout and welcoming
Played a match here. Course was in great condition apart from the bunkers (fairways) which were very 'stony'. Very quiet on a Thursday afternoon so pace of play was great. Challenging greens and would play again.
Great Course
Great course - flat but challenging , need to play straight as rough is rough !
Greens excellent.
Only issue - BUNKERS FULL OF STONES !!
Hospitality not tested on this occasion.
Enjoyable course
Good flat layout, well maintained fairways and greens. Nice halfway house.
Great course and condition
I used to be a member year ago but moved further away. Wasn’t sure what condition the course would be in but it was great. Tee boxes were well kept, greens were great and rough was longish but just about right to be honest.
Fairways were good,
Great course, speed of play was great too. Shame I can’t be a member as would join straight away.
