Avoid
Played here quite a few times over the years. Have generally avoided it during the winter - or when it’s wet as the course really doesn’t cope. However, played yesterday and the course was in horrendous shape. The tees were a mass of unrepaired divots, the fairways were extremely bare and just large patches of baked dirt in places. A lot of the greens were damaged and had been repaired with a lot of sand - and the bunkers seemed to have been ‘raked’ by driving some sort of buggy through them.
Needless to say, we won’t be going back in a hurry. Complete waste of £39.
Great setuo
good course , during range, putting green and chipping all pretty good nice course layout staff very friendly staff , recommended, we did get geld up by a four ball from hole 14 that were extremely slow and didn’t let us play through. Apart from that good course to play
First time
Very good course, very challenging in places and wind made things harder but a very enjoyable course that tested you
Great course
Good, challenging course, greens a bit patchy very picturesque.
Decent Resort Course
Having once been a member, some 20 years ago I was keen to play the course again. Whilst it was not in the best of condition, presumably as a result of the recent weather, it still represented an enjoyable challenge on a well designed golf course with the large undulating greens as quick as ever.
It’s well worth playing, but probably best to wait for a bit more growth on the fairways.
Finally the bacon baps at the halfway house are just the best, don’t tee off on the 10th without getting one!
Booked on golfnow.
Course was what I expected in April apart from the strange multi coloured greens which were cut super tight. Ridiculously quick and even from 8 feet I knew I would 3 putt! Hopefully this is temporary as I wouldn't want to play them every week.
Telford Golf & Spa
Haven’t played this course for a couple of years so when we bagged a GN deal for just £20 per man i was absolutely buzzed as were my playing partners as its a fantastic designed track with lots of variation. My disappointment were the greens, they looked extremely scorched & bare so putting was seriously tough. So quick the downhill putts were almost impossible as to hold the line with pace the putts would de-green most of the time. The pace of play was pretty slow back 9 & patience was a must. It’s still a great knock & at that kind of price i would recommend but i have seen it in better condition. The facilities, driving range, practice putting green & especially the ‘19th holes’ be it either behind the 18th or the bar inside are excellent in the fine weather.
Telford and hotel
Entering the golf shop, staff member was warm friendly, polite with a lovely smile.
The course was in wonderful condition for this time of year. Other members who were playing were as friendly too.
Well recommended to anyone must visit for a round
Almost Ready For Golf
Greens and bunkers were in good condition but the fairways were extremely soft and lumpy…like a Sunday League football pitch.
Lots of tree felling has taken place and the fallen trees, although cut into smaller chunks, have yet to be removed.
For £28 this course is good value when properly maintained but more work is required away from the greens to get more than 3 stars
Lovely 8th
Great course. Boggy in places which is to be expected this time of year. Staff are brilliant. Overall a really enjoyable day. 8th hole is stunning.
Should not be open
A course that is apparently Inspired by Augusta, if anyone who has played Augusta or even watched the masters saw the conditions of the course then they would know that mentioning Augusta in the same breath as Telford spa and golf would be utterly ridiculous. Having played here in the summer and winter I knew what to expect for a round this time of year but the condition of the course was nothing short of unacceptable. The damage being done just by playing a 2 ball will be irreversible, I have never seen a course so wet especially on a dry day, it should not have been open and should not be opened for at least another month until the surface water has had time to drain away. £25 each to play a course in this state is nothing short of robbery.
