Condition not as good as it could be
Fairways a bit dry and under grassed in places. Greens hollow tined about 3 weeks ago and the effect of this is still present on some of the greens. An abundance of apples to be found on the many apple trees around the course.
Whats going on with the Greens
This is a great place, facilities are spot on, course is very nice, long but good and challenging but not too hard.
The problem is the Greens, I have played over 30 different courses this year and these greens are by far the worst. Some courses I have played have less sand in the bunkers! They have been spiked to the point they are just spike holes and sand with a little bit of green around them. Shame as it makes putting pointless its luck if they bobble in or wide.
Really nice
Played in fantastic weather. First thing that struck me was the course in general looked fantastic. All the tee boxes were excellent. The fairways where really good with great bounce and run for this time of year. The greens rolled true and once you get the pace you can trust your putts. I found it long but I enjoyed the test. Longer hitters would thrive here. The only thing I can fault if anything was that no one hole stood out for me in terms of being a signature hole but that shouldn't stop you playing here. Great course and setup in general.
Big course, reasonable price for the average player
Nice and big course to play on for 10-22 handicap. Greens do need to improve some patchy areas but it's spring and English weather.
Not the best
Course condition not great. Greens were all over the place with some heaving damage in places and tee boxes were a mess with a massive amount of damage! Some lies were unplayable even 20 yards off the green.
Very average course
