Terrible tee box Photo submitted by gc1081834766 on 07/30/2020
Great Value, Bit Basic
The course was doing well with the two weeks of really dry weather. The greens keepers were going round and putting the sprinklers at the Greens on, to keep them receptive. Sadly the two ball in front were a little slow, and we had to wait on a number of tees and approaches to the greens. If you’re in no rush, this is a taxing course for the novice but a fair test of ability for average golfers. Lots of up and down, takes full advantage of the landscape, with more than a little water. Always green times available, would recommend.
First time playing course
Sun out but 15moh wind on a fairly open course.. greens were very quick fairways were ok.. tee direction signs need improvement club house /booking in was slaow as seemed to be only 1 poor man doing it all.. food good!
Not for a beginner
Thought I would try this course as was local and the price for the round was one not to be passed up.
As someone who has only been playing for under a year, I found this course one not to be for a beginner, but then again I do not like teeing off in the winter mats.
A few more rounds and a bit more experience and I will enjoy this.
Won’t return.
Poor course conditions, unlevel temporary tee boxes, boring course design, and greens that are just flat circles. Not worth the drive, or the 20 minutes waiting in between shots.
Well worth playing
Good challenging course in good condition, quite hilly in places but great fun
Early start
The course was in great condition and even with our early start the staff were out maintaining it.
Notley
Course layout, cart paths, buggies and signage are terrible. Greens are inconsistent and weedy. It's a cheap round for a reason but it's still expensive for what you get. Weather was nice though.
Nice track for the money but get out early
Really enjoyed the round as did all our group. Good value considering weekend play. Greens in better condition than you would expect although needs some repair on a few holes on them. Hole layout was decent with a few tough ones. We would all definitely come again. We got out early but could see pace of play being an issue later in the day. Can’t beat it for the price!

Very enjoyable day. Very friendly service. Course was in very good condition.
Notleys Golf Club
A hidden gem of a course , good condition, a fair challenge for less accomplished golfers.
Best welcome and friendliness of many clubs I have played at.
Enjoyed it so much played twice in one week having never been there before .
The Notleys
Positives:
A challenge for any beginner golfer looking to improve, open fairways and not much chance of losing balls unless wayward.
Friendly staff from the clubhouse
Nicely mown fairways/greens in good condition.
Solo Buggies provided due to train underpass
Negatives:
Difficult for anyway not confident with walking up and down lots of hills, course is in a stream valley.
Some bunkers have been retired and now just overgrown hard dirt bowls.
Dried out tee boxes, difficult to plug tees especially top of hill boxes (water runoff)
Always find it hard to say positives but I will reiterate the experience overall was good and would recommend to anyone nearby but noting these things so other users are aware.
The notleys
Great fairways and course design. Greens and bunkers need a bit of work in places.
