Big improvement

haven't played Notley in a while. The course conditions have really improved. Bunkers still not 100% but greens are good and fairways well maintained. Always like the layout and still one of the most challenging courses I have played.

Nice course especially for low cost.

Was a bit dubious after reading reviews, but for the cheapest golf course around its a very decent course for the money. Greens do have weeds but its nothing insane. Fairways were cut and bunkers with weeds in had GUR signs in them. Highly recommended and will be going back soon.

Terrible course

This course needs alot of investment. The tee boxes were dreadful, the fairways were completely covered in weeds and fitting and nests lay all over the course. The greens were okay although again covered in weeds. Such a disappointing evening at this course.

Terrible

A really terrible state of a golf course. It looked so untidy. The teeboxes were dreadful. The fairways were just weeds. The greens were very long and weeds all over. To make things worse the whole course is covered with flying ants nests!! It has such great potential as it has a good layout but it needs alot of money spent on it! Dreadful place to play golf. I will not be returning anytime soon.

Friendly and improved

Played this course about 7/8 years ago. The layout makes great use of the river as a hazard and it’s a great test of golf. Much improved greens with 2 or 3 still ropey but I can see the work

that’s been done long term.

The tee was busy when I was booked to tee off, not sure if they double book across the internet and in person, however a three ball of members immediately invited me to play with them and I felt very welcome at the course. I would play this course again!

Decent 18 hole course, just a shame about the greens

Hadn’t played at Notley for a couple years but thought myself and a friend would give it a try again.

Tee’d off at 2pm on a Saturday with only a slow group of 4 a head of us that let us play through, was a fairly windy day with certainly played its part but the greens were the main talking point.

People not repairing pitch marks (not the courses fault) but for them to be so patching and just very bumpy really put the round of golf a bit of a downer

Will certainly go back to the course and hopefully the greens will have slightly improved

Awful

I have played this course a few times now and it just seems to get worse and worse. The greens are by far the worst I’ve ever played on with some having huge holes, patch’s of weeds and missing grass. The course does have great potential but it really needs a lot of money spent on it. Will not be returning anytime soon.

9 Was enough

We played the course on a beautiful day and had looked forward to our game......what a disappointment. The tee beds (especially the ladies) were awful the grass was far too long on most holes and bare on others. The fairways were in a poor condition and water hazards in need of attention as it was too dangerous to attempt the nettles to retrieve a ball. The greens were full of weed and pitted with holes of various sizes (not from tineing) and some of the bunkers had grass growing in them. None of the ball washes had water in but the sand boxes were full of water!! After 9 holes we came off. This is the worst course we have ever played on. The whole place is in desperate need of a tidy up and a lot of money spending on it. We won't be returning.

Interesting course

Lady very friendly , opened the kitchen to make us bacon sandwiches and coffee.

Lovely course , quite testing , with the river crossing 6/7 holes . Quite hilly which throws your distances a bit .

Enjoyable round , only downside , greens were very poor and bunkers solid sand , but its the winter and a lot of rain recently .

Would definitely play again
