Great course
Brilliant day, started with a great welcome from the staff &. a lovely breakfast. Need to plot your way around the course as quite a few dog legs. Got round in 3 hours for a 2 ball.
Tricky track
Overall a lovely, tricky, fairly short track. Pull driver if you dare !!
Great Track
£25 booked through golf pass . Such a bargain, it’s has a nice seating area over looking the par 3 eighteenth, perfect for relaxing with a cold beer.
Course in poor condition, compared to last visit !
Myself & a few friends have played several courses slinger lockdown was lifted but this is by far the worst course by a country mile. We played has a hot deal at £14.50 a person but if I had paid a full green fee, I feel more aggrieved.
They can't use the lockdown as an excuse because other courses actually look better because they have had time to recover. Don't waste your money & go else where
Too wet
I am well aware it has rained a lot over the past couple of weeks. Also, I enjoy a round of golf just as much as anyone and so would rather courses be open. But, when you turn up to a golf course that is open, one assumes it is in some sort of playable state (especially being charged £27 a round for an otherwise run of the mill pay and play course).
18 winter tees (mats), 3 temporary greens and one hole completely closed which my playing partner and I were completely unaware of until we arrived at said closed hole to find a green that had been dug up, no temporary green in sight and a blank "course information" board plonked on the tee/mat. Also, large parts of the course were pure mud, fit only for a drove of pigs.
Oh, and we also followed a 4-ball contrary to government covid-19 rules at the time of playing...
Hopefully it's pretty obvious to see why we felt the green fee didn't provide value for money. Having said this, the layout of the course is good with some interesting holes. I may consider returning when the weather is better, but let's hope keeping the course open in such wet conditions doesn't do lasting damage.
Needs drainage
The course was very short muddy with lots of temporary greens ,granted it is the last week in December , lovely course in the summer tho
Crap
£27 50 for a course which is basically unplayable . Temporary ttees acceptable not told about temporary greens . I temporary t box moved side to side in ur swing . Lost balls in middle of fairway. Course was so squashy nearly lost my shoe lol.
Wet wet wet
Despite the awful weather recently, the conditions were terrible. A few holes had make shift greens in the middle of fairways. There’s no 15th hole at all. In the summer I could imagine being great but for the price in current conditions was unacceptable.
Was glad to be out playing again and grateful to get a tee time but think the course should really have been closed due to the recent poor weather.
Far too wet still and a mud bath ,two players in front of us in mobility scooters gave up after four holes of churning up the fairways and had to get off and pull them back to the clubhouse .
Could be so much better
I loved the layout but the course didn’t look like it has had any money spent on it in months/ years.
The potential is great but you have to look after the asset and it doesn’t appear as if the club has
It could be so much better
The course layout I really liked, not driver off every hole, but a positional golf course.
It doesnt look like iits had any money spent on it in years .
Could be a real little Gem,
The course needs some TLC. Some of the greens were struggling (1st) and bunkers were in a poor condition.
A round to make you think
Despite the awful weather (thanks storm Alex) I really enjoyed my round here. It’s not a course for the boomers out there and requires thought and a straight line.
The greens were super fast, goodness knows how they play when dry! There was some damage caused by squirrels but there’s little the club can do about this.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Didn’t have any food so cannot comment.
We will be ack again and soon.
NOT FOR THE BIG HITTERS!
I wished I had left my driver at home.this is a tight course where accuracy is paramount,I would definitely approach it differently if playing again.I’m not that confident with my irons so struggled here. The greens were only in fair condition but also fast, and a few had one too many unrepaired pitch marks. Also because it’s not a long course be prepared for a bit of a wait if you have a 3-4 ball in front.if some of the greens were brought up to a higher standard I can see this course being a very enjoyable experience for accurate golfers handicapped 18 and lower.
