Uttoxeter Golf Club

A fabulous course right alongside Uttoxeter race course. Very friendly staff in the pro shop set the day off well. The course was very well kept considering the time of year - nicely undulating fairways and true greens. I will definitely be going back many times in 2019 for sure.

This is a terrific course with some great views but be prepared for a hard walk as there are some tough climbs to get to those great views.

Lots of blind holes, particularly the first three so beware. Green in good nick and couldn't fault the overall condition.

Talking to members afterwards suggested this is one of the cheaper priced courses but it has the feel of a course that you'd expect to be more exclusive. would play here more often if it was closer to home.

What great condition , especially for the dry weather we are having . Greens are in great condition . Played at the weekend got very busy as the day went on . Tee off at 07:24 . The only point not to be happy at was they only have 6 buggies and it is a hilly course . Make sure you book one if you want one.

Teed off early so we could get the World Cup quarter final. The guy in the pro shop was first class with his information about the course. I have played here before and considering the recent hot weather the course and the greens were in excellent condition, quite a few quirky holes which keep you thinking and having to try different shots. Will definitely play here again

played on a glorious Sunday afternoon and took the wise decision to hire a buggy...a lesson well learned from previous rounds here. it is hilly in parts and plenty of blind tee shots....a good idea if you have time to drive your buggy up the fairway to get an idea of where youre going. the absence of a driving range just takes a bit off the experience but I'm being a tad picky.. all told the course is beautiful... some really good testing holes where position is better than length off the tee. the only thing we commented on was the speed of the greens...a little slower than you think.... but still true... all in all a worthwhile visit...we had a hot deal and on one of the hottest days this year it seemed apt..... Will go again.

If you walk the course you have to have a decent level of fitness, slightly hilly.... friendly staff though.

Course in magnificent condition - a credit to the ground staff at the course. Course layout testing at times but still an enjoyable round. Will definitely play there again.

Course is very blind, hilly and very challenging. Some short par 4’s but also some tricky long par 4’s. A few water hazards that make this course good for all types of golfers

I have played this course a handful of times however this was the first time i had played it at the weekend and it was busy. The first 8 holes are so tightly packed together its actually dangerous (back 9 much more enjoyable). Never have i been hit by a ball while playing golf however this round i was hit on the back by a ball from the group playing behind and nearly hit on 4 other occasions. Nearly every tee short is blind which is my only defense for the group that hit me, however they were all members and should know better.

£20 is not a lot to pay for a round of golf but for the same price The Manor is a better choice in my opinion and is just down the road.

Although the weather was fine, the course had suffered from earlier rainfall and was heavy underfoot. Driving mats were in use but facilitated the use of tees. Leaves were in abundance and made ball finding problematical on many fairways. Greens were in good condition. The course provides for a good test in normal circumstances. The terrain is undulating and there is plenty of variety of holes. Ordinarily provides very good value for money at a competitive price point. Practice facilities available and comfortable club house providing a selection of beers and food.

Hidden gem, even though course was very wet was in great condition. Only gripe was playing off mats. Very hilly though, lots of blind shots.

Would highly recommend playing this course especially if a meeting is on at the races cos may have to stop and watch

Played on a Monday and there was a senior match on play was very very slow. You need to be told before you take our booking as l would have played another day. As a result l was caught in a thunderstorm and had to come as greens flooded and course was soaked. Some courses offer a rain cheque if this happens but no offer was forthcoming. Played the course a number of times and the staff have ALWAYS been outstanding.

Next to and overlooking uttoxiter racecourse is a fabulous golf course. Whilst not long it is a very interesting and challenging course which is very well maintained. On the afternoon my partner and I had the course to ourselves. The experience got off to a great start meeting the resident professional. He was very welcoming, informative and friendly as was a member who came into the shop. This really is a gem of a course and well worth a visit. Be warned though there are a few steep slopes and a buggy is advisable.

Really enjoyed the course you have to think your way round which was a challenge after a 5 year lay off and will definitely go back

Beautiful course very well kept. Stunning backdrop over the nearby race course. Can't wait to play it again
