Uttoxeter Golf Club

The course is a pleasure to play for a high handicapper like me. The mature trees throughout the course provide a fantastic vista but they are very forgiving when your ball heads in their direction!. All of the trees are cleared below to about 8 feet which means that hitting a tree is not a problem and finding your ball is very easy. The manicured greens are a credit to the ground staff and volunteers. Great value when booked through Teetimes.

Course is not long but is interesting and well laid out. Everyone at the Club was very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend this.

Hole condition was very poor for the time year - all caved in

The course gives you plenty to think about and visually looks good, it has a friendly feel, the professional made us feel welcome as did other playing members, greens had been spiked therefore a little bumpy but it is well worth a visit

THE FIRST FEW HOLES THERE WAS A LOT OF NOISE FROM THE GARDENERS AND THE RACE COURSE STAFF, WHICH I DID NOT EXPECT IN THE HEART OF THE COUNTRY.

YOU HAVE TO DRIVE AT THE MARKING STICKS BECAUSE THE HOLES ARE BLIND OVER THE HILL AND THEN YOU HAVE TO RING THE BELL WHEN YOU HAVE HOLED OUT SO YOU DO NOT GET PEPPERED BY THE NEXT FOURSOME. APART FROM THE HILLS THE FAIRWAYS CROSS IN SOME CASES WHICH GETS YOU A BIT CONFUSED. WHEN YOU HIT A NICE DRIVE IT LANDS ON A SLOPEY FAIRWAY AND RUNS TO THE FIRST CUT. SO WHAT WELL THAT BRINGS THE TREES AND WATER INTO PLAY. HARD TO SETTLE SO LOW SCORE ARE HARD TO COME BY.

I LOVED THE SETTING AND HAD A COOL PINT WHEN I HAD FINISHED. NOT ALL BAD.

I WOULD GO AGAIN BUT I WOULD HAVE A BUGGY NEXT TIME.JB

This is a super course set against Uttoxeter race course, the fairways and greens are in excellent condition and the course layout makes it a thinking mans golf course instead of the usual big hitters golf course. There are a lot of blind holes and brooks to deal with along with the usual bunkers. The club house food and drinks are very reasonably priced and is accompanied by a cheery smile from Dawn.

Good company, nice day. Greens poor &. Muddy but it's winter

We had an early tee off so the pros shop was shut and were unable to get a scorecard, but was able to navigate the course using a garmin. Nicely kept course that is quite hard going up and down the fairways, perhaps should have had a buggy. Played in a three ball and there was some wayward driving but never lost a ball or had to look for one as a lot of the fairways run parallel . Some nice views over the hills when you get to the top of the course.
