Pro shop very polite told us some tree work been done on some of the holes, no temporary greens but tees off mats, which we knew beforehand but played there many times before so not a problem. First ok tree work going on but no problem, green was so so. Then it just went downhill, we got stuck behind a three ball that were very slow, the course was so poor we walked off after the 11th, greens were pretty bad have to say, the tree cutting was a joke there was work going on everywhere, where they weren’t working it was just a mess, tree branches strewn everywhere, it was wet underfoot anyway but the workers vehicles just made it worse. We went into the pro shop after walking off but that was shut, which was 1:30, very disappointed won’t be rushing back that’s for sure!

I rang hotline on the day and course was closed. Couldn’t get hold of course and can’t get hold of golf now to get my money back. Does any number work on golf now ?

The course was wet, hilly and in my opinion, should have been closed. Trying to walk up those hills when this wet was not good.

Full winter greens, wish I knew that before booking. The winter greens have not been cut to make the putting green, literally just on the edge of the fairway. No point putting. Greens not in great condition generally, compared to others I’ve played recently.

Course very up and down, some decent looking holes and views. Gentleman in the pro shop was nice.

Nice course not in the best condition but low cost to account for it. Will be back in the summer as think it would be a good test of golf.

Excellent value for money on a great little course holding up well in winter conditions. A tight course in the winter, can only imagine what it is like with leafs on the trees! Friendly welcome from both staff and members, will return.

I understand that the weather plays a very big part in this

But I booked a round of golf as a 2 ball Friday night around 8 o’clock for the next morning

Drove a hour to get to the course to find out that the course had been shut the day before and we’re still selling tee off times after the course had been shut, and whilst I was there I could still book tee off times for that day!

So I wasted a morning drove a 2 hour round trip for nothing!

I’ve played this course twice now, the first time being in the middle of June at the height of the season. On that occasion we got stuck behind an extremely obnoxious 4 ball of elderly members who played what can only be described as the most painfully slow golf I’ve ever witnessed without a single offer of playing through despite them losing at least 3 holes on the group in front. I thought the course ok on that occasion and due to the limited options available decided to give it another go. We encountered the pain of getting stuck behind another extremely slow group of elderly members with exactly the same attitude, you’d think they owned the course. We gave up after 12 holes and over 3 hours of waiting on every shot expecting the courtesy to come and after asking to be allowed through we were met with we are in a comp and there’s nowhere to go - they’d lost 3 holes on the group in front! As far as the course was concerned I’ve made me mind up never to return. Yes we are at the start of winter but the course, with the greens in particular, being in terrible condition which makes me really appreciate the quality of the greens at my home course, Stone, which are quite simply exceptional! Some of the greens were completely covered in leaves which had clearly not been cleared at the start of the day. Significant time was spent looking for balls just off the fairway under leaves, luckily we had nothing better to do. I just don’t like the course, it’s feels really cramped with so many blind shots. The clubhouse and welcome were fine but I couldn’t be a member and play there every week!

Played here many times and never been disappointed. Always a challenge and always in super nick and quality greens. Would definitely join this club if it was closer to home and it would certainly keep me fit.

Course played reasonably well considering the recent wet weather some patches of retained underlying water but on the whole well maintained/presented. Facilities are good the very friendly helpful staff from pro shop and clubhouse/catering enhanced the visit, will return again in the future on reflection would probably provide better golf results during a dry spell. Very good all round value.

Never played a course that's been this up and down , even after playing many Scottish courses. Loads of blind shots.

Great views , however at this time of year with strong winds finding your ball amongst all the falling leaves on the fairways was time consuming.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Some tough holes. Excellent winter conditions. Views are amazing
