For this time of year and the wether we have had this corse was top class.
Some really challenging and fun holes.
Can not recommend this corse enuf, just play it
Brilliant course
I carnt tell you how fantastic the course is..perfect can not wait to play there again
I wish I could write something bad about this place to avoid it getting busy in the summer hahaha. Truth is I can’t, course was in great condition considering the weather we’ve had. Greens up there with best in north west.
Course was pretty dry.
Greens quite fast and no problem with the fairways. A really good course that has matured well.
Great course
You're gonna need a blanket and suntan lotion, cause you're never gonna get off that beach.
A good challenge
Really liked vale royal Abbey the back drop of the old Abbey is amazing. The Fairways were very lush, and the greens were very good and quite fast. Really enjoyed playing here the layout is good, pace of play was good and the food was good.
Waterlogged greens from small amount of rain
Unfortunately a 10 minute spell of rain on the 7th hole resulted in most of the greens thereafter being waterlogged to the point of being borderline unplayable. On the clubs website in its write up of the course it states that the greens have “natural free drainage” which clearly isn’t the case. Furthermore, not once during this period did we see any greens staff attempting to remove any of the standing water from the greens which was very disappointing given the price to play such a course. Overall a real let down.
20 minutes rain ruined greens
Greens looked good until we had a downpour, then from hole 7-18 there were puddles all across the green. No green keepers around and puddles made it impossible to putt properly. This was the case only after a 20 minute downpour.
