Poor condition
Greens really long, full of damage. They have let buggies and trolleys on the course so it has damaged the grass with lots of areas basically mud. Couldn’t find a bit of grass to play off of in some areas. Why are buggies allowed out in the middle of winter? The edges of greens are trashed through trolley traffic. Bunkers absolutely unplayable, weeds, ruined by rain, no effort to rake them after rain. Wasn’t happy at all. Staff friendly and clubhouse sufficient, certainly wouldn’t play it again until some care is put in to it. It’s not like the old Brentwood I used to play.
Brentwood
The course is usually pretty good fun to play but sadly it was very muddy on the fairways and around the greens. The greens were in very good condition. The staff were really friendly and easy going. The pace was the main issue, having to wait after every hole became pretty tedious although this may have been due to the mud in some cases. Drainage needs to be improved a lot.
Great course but don't expect a quick round
One of my favourite local courses and very good conditions for the time of year.
Having played here many times you expect a slow round and do think it would be quicker splitting the 4 balls into 2 groups of 2.
Family rivalry
Played today 11/9 in lovely weather with my son. Greens were in good condition the course is well laid out with some nice holes. Water on a fair few holes which affect to the test. Last played a couple of years ago and is looked after well. Pace of play was good and relaxed overall had a really nice Sunday afternoon round in the sun
Good challenge
Course was in good condition considering the very hot weather lately.
Good layout, Some very challenging holes.
Overall value for money
Generally in good condition and a challenge to play.
Greens were inconsistent, obviously not being cut tight due to the hot weather but the wildlife (birds) have caused damage to numerous greens unfortunately.
Nice course
Course in excellent condition , very friendly staff , could do with a marshal on the course to sort out slow play , there was a society out on the course , we ended up with 3 groups on a tee waiting to tee off , nearly 5 hours for a round , might be best to play on a week day , I was told it was normal time for a round
