Given the recent high winds wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised course in great condition greens very quick. I was trying my new set of clubs bought as a birthday present. The fairways at times narrow and the need for an iron is paramount. The course itself presents a fair challenge, however was a little disoriented on the 5th by the tee box placement. The staff are really friendly as are the members. I was offered a game next Wednesday by a member. Overall I have to say given the conditions of late and the time of day the course was excellent. Great value for money will definitely be calling again. Thanks to all at the Wirral.

Need to be accurate from tee.

Think carefully on tee as a number of fairways quite narrow which makes you consider an iron for placement.

Course in good condition nice woodland course with little noise from surrounding roads so a very pleasant experience.

A good challenge for any level.

Wirral Golf Club Review

We arrived at 9.30am Sunday morning to be greeted by an empty, but open clubhouse and closed pro shop despite there being several cars in the car park. Fortunately a lone, but helpful lady member provided us with some score cards and wished us well. The course itself is a cracking test of golf set in secluded pockets of heathland shrubs and tight tree lined fairways. It's not the longest course by any means with most par 4 holes averaging in and around the 300 yard mark, but there's still plenty to get your teeth into with many risk/reward holes allowing you to fish the driver out and open up the shoulders, or lay up with a long iron and craft a short iron in. The highlights of the course have to be the par 3s, some within 8/9 iron reach but with quick, multi layered and slick greens you've still got your work cut out. The greens themselves were in great nick and the overall course condition was excellent. There's plenty to look at in between shots too with some stunning Tudor houses and old fashioned buildings that nestle alongside stunning modern properties next to some of the fairways with just sandstone walls and simple fences as protection. This course really is a very good and fun test of golf with some quirky holes that require a little thought and skill. Well worth a visit!

Small but testing course

The course was well maintained with the greens in great condition. Some of the tees were closed so had to play off temporary. Disappointed that the pro shop was closed, luckily we did not require anything. Club was shut when we finished our round at 6.30pm which was a bit surprising considering there were still a fair number of golfers on the course.

Not great

The course had two holes( 5th and 6th) closed.

The other holes are very narrow but short. Certain amount of crossover as the course is squeezed into a small area. On the whole the the course is nicely presented and the greens are very good. We did not avail ourselves of any facilities but it looked as though they were closed anyway.
