Good course with excellent layout.

Great course, quite long and tough for beginner golfer like myself. Found the grass to be incredibly long in places you wouldn't expect. Definitely due a trim and losing balls is incredibly easy.

Desperately in need of investment

Played there last week, unbelievably slow round, we were a two ball, tee d off at 1452 …. Finished at 8.15 !!!

Fairways not too bad, I get that the greenkeeping staff have had a nightmare with this recent weather but the 1st cut and beyond was terrible, 1st cut was stupidly long, a general lack of care for the course, lots of clumps of old dead grass everywhere for your ball to hide under,

if you strayed from the fairway then your ball was gone.

Generally scruffy and untidy including the Tee boxes.

Tricky to distinguish some tee s from the surrounding grass.

Greens poor and very mossy, it’s clear not much has been invested over the past few years on the course.

It appears that one of the small lakes has possibly had something toxic enter the water as there were about 8 huge carp floating dead in the water and a few (somehow) rotting on the grass at the waters edge..

They were there both days and deteriorating fast.- absolutely stinking by the second day!

Why would they be left there?

It’s the little things round the course….none of the ball cleaners on the tees had water in, many of the bins on the tees were over flowing and rubbish in the floor all around them.

There were hundreds of players playing over the two days we were there yet the half way hut had no food - ‘sorry we sold out yesterday’ - 2.15 in the afternoon.

They know the numbers that they have booked and are a massive facility ….. why not stock up with a few sausage rolls, pies crisps or even drinks….even the clubhouse bar had no crisps nuts or snacks….

Very poor for a big name brand like DeVere.

Overall, the course design and layout is really good and could be a fantastic 18holes, , it is such a shame it appears that they are just flogging it to death.

Poor conditions

The course condition was appalling. If your ball rolled off the fairway the chances of finding it in the first cut was fairly remote and even if you did find it you couldn’t play a normal shot to get it out of the thick tough grass. Beyond the first cut it wasn’t even worth looking for your ball as the rough was completely overgrown. Some of the bunker conditions were poor with uneven sand or limited sand and as shown in the photos the edges were overgrown in places. The state of the course was totally unacceptable.

Marshall MIA avg 15 mins wait at each tee

Terrible pace after 3pm when the marshall disappears. 2nd cut is shabby with dead grass everywhere. Poor value for money at the range.

Painfully slow pace of play

Tee’d off at 1:48 and we finished at 7:15! We was only a 3-ball we spent majority of our time stood on Tee boxes waiting to tee off. The pace of play here is horrific. Marshall’s don’t see to do anything about it and when we complained at the end, management barely cared. For the prices they are charging, honestly don’t bother.

Good course to come and play

We played at the end of January and the course was still heavy with rainwater in places. The greens were in good condition and are challenging at times.

The course is parkland and is spread out. It isn’t hilly but there are undulations to keep the golfers interest. A good use of water and some well placed bunkers.

My son and I enjoyed the round and so I am pleased to recommend the course to others

Worth a visit

Really pleased with our day out at Eokefiekd park. Played it a few times but for me it was in the best condition I've seen it. Normally very dry in summer. It's a long but well laid out course. Most holes have danger from large bunkers, water or trees. Pro shop staff very friendly which is a good start.

We will be back

Enjoyed the afternoon round

We played Wokefield on a Tues afternoon on a last minute booking. Enjoyed the round, managed to lose half a dozen balls in lakes, woodland and long grass! The bunkers are enormous on some holes so will be a little more conservative with shots next time. Greens in fairly good condition for October, most pitch marks had been repaired.

We will be back.

Good golf

Second time at this course. The course is very well maintained and good value for money. Pace of play was slow at times but was allowed to play through eventually. The bar although expensive had good food and a variety beverages available. I will come back in the near future.

Good course, played in the summer. Pace of play was ok but was rather busy. Group in front walked in after 9 which freed up the two ball I was in to get round fine. Would come back to play again in the summer. Think the pace of play needs improving but overall great value for money at £19 per person green fee.

Great Day

Returning to Wokefield Park, I found the course to be in very good condition which added to the overall satisfaction of the day. Having played the course before, I was a little more aware of some of the hidden surprises, which lay ahead of me.. there are a couple of holes where are you are not faced with bunkers as such, but something that more resembles the beaches of Normandy. Another hole the wise golfer will play it as a dog leg to the right, but the clearing over the corner of a lake. Looks to be very inviting, and it’s only when you get round there, you realise the raids were in fact, hiding another part of the lake, where many a golf ball resides.

It’s a good walk round, but there are plenty of golf buggies if you so wish. A great day and one I hope to repeat soon..

Nice course shame about the pace of play.

We arrived a little before our tee time. This enabled us to make use of the practice area. This is a good facility and got us in good shape for the round ahead. The chap in the pro shop was welcoming and helpful. The course is in good shape and although the greens didn’t look great they played true with the ball rolling well. My only complaint would be the slow pace of play. There were a couple of four-balls ahead of us and despite having to wait and watch them tee off we were never asked if we would like to play through. We were a two-ball. It was a good day but the course won this time. Would play again as it is good value for money.
