Woldingham Golf Club

A very enjoyable round of golf with true well maintained greens, wide fairways however very undulating and occasionally you will have a flat lie. Our tee time was pushed back but we did not have to wait on any tees. Worth a try

Booked to play but arrived to find a trolley ban.

My guest cannot carry and I had a tour bag with no strap.

Staff were very dismissive and insisted they had called all reservations which they had not. They were allowing buggies on paths but wouldn’t allow us to do the same By keeping our trolleys on the paths! Ridiculous

No concession offered for a buggy which at full price made it to expensive

Haven’t played this course for some years. It has really matured. Very interesting and challenging holes. Certainly one I intend to play again.

Recommended. We played on a fine Sunday afternoon so the course was busy but we were still round in 4 1/4 hours.

Overall, had a good time at this course. As someone who has made a comeback to golf after not playing for 10 years, I found this course to be quite challenging. Due to the hilly location of the course, there were quite a few difficult shots made, with locations of a few greens being difficult to reach.

I wouldn't recommend it to those who are beginner/semi-beginner like myself, but I can imagine it to be quite enjoyable to those who are more confident with their shots and have more experience. Staff and general upkeep of the course were great. They may need to update some of their golf buggies, however.

Unlike the previous reviewer I only made it into 2 bunkers but there are many, many bunkers around this course so maintaining them all in perfect condition must be a considerable task. I have no complaints about the 2 bunkers I visited and I think that, as visitors, we have a responsibility to mention any problem we encounter to the pro or a passing grounds person.

My experience was excellent all round. Everyone (both staff and golfers) was friendly and had a smile on their face. The tee-boxes, fairways greens bunkers and rough were all in good condition. The course is very pretty, being set in a valley and the sloping valley sides cause sufficient problems on their own. Impressive, modern clubhouse. Recommended.

I've been playing this course since it opened many many years back. There has always been a bit of an issue with the bunkers as I know the area suffers from flints (I used to live short distance away).

Today, the bunkers were ridiculous. OK I shouldn't have been in as many, but that aside, the condition in them was atrocious. No proper sand, just a thick red mud. And the number of stones, nay boulders, was ridiculous. Almost impossible to play out of without moving rocks or risk damaging your club. The par 3 15th, just in front of the clubhouse, had a rock in it big enough to start a rockery in your garden. Just no excuse for it.

And greens that had greenside bunkers were covered in stone chippings where players had splashed out.

Such a shame, as the greens and fairways were good (although I've seen the greens better over the years).

The tee boxes were in need of a cut too but manageable.

Disappointed.

excellent golf course. always in great condition. greens are some of the best around. especially this time of year.

Have played this course a few times, pace of play was good for a Sunday afternoon, greens in great nick and fairways properly recovered from the parching June and July, moreso than other course in the area

As above. Greens were in good condition as were the fair ways. Really challenging course suitable for all levels of handicap. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
