Golfer Reviews
Greens
The greens are and very good shape but they need some new carts they're run by the city and the other city course has very nice carts
Greens Looking Good
Greens really looking good compared to much higher priced courses around Jax. A couple tees need some work but they’re doing a great job with summer maintenance and changing pin positions to give the course a different look/feel every time I’ve played this month.
Tee’s Need Some Work
For an inexpensive 9 hole course, the greens were in decent condition, however I would rather play a good 18 hole course. Great course to go practice on. The tee’s really need some work, very sandy not level, and could use some sod.
Bad expectations
For a 9 hole public course this location had it's ups and downs. Course had less than half of their carts. Allowed us to book with a cart when no carts were available. No ice or bags for drinks
Carts and the course looks better than other places around town
The cards need some work still and they're still short carts here and there but the fairways are coming along and the greens are nice nicer than a few other places that want $50 $60 to play
Course
The course fairways could use some help but they're okay but the greens are in really great shape better than some of the places around town that are making you pay 50 to $70 to play the biggest thing though is they need to work on their cart situation
Slowpoke
Fairways were hard packed. Bald in spots. Greens in average shape. Some tee boxes chewed up. Cart paths will shake your teeth out. Need fill material and smoothing. Been this way a long time.
First Tee
First time for me to play this course. Granted this course is an old Donald Ross layout however I am surprised that the PGA doesn't partner better with the First Tee group. The fairways are sparse, the greens much better. The clubhouse staff, Kelly, was busier than a one person operation should have been. Kelly remained calm and was gracious to the golfers.
This is a good course to take young golfers to as a learning course. I did just that.
Cheers!
Pace of play
Pace very slow group of ladies backing up the course taking pictures, and horsing around, with no regard to the other players totally ridiculous, need to monitor the pace of play due to the fact it's a nine hole course.
Good Practice Round
Greens in better shape than expensive courses for this time of year. Fairways getting a little hard without summer rain. Overall for a 9 hole layout it’s great practice conditions to get ready for future golf.
Hope they keep their green maintenance intact
First tee
Good Golf course, needs work in places,.play company's golf league there, only 9 holes.
Overbooking
They don't have that many carts there that are reliable and working they do get pretty packed so then if you have the reservation then you're still waiting on a golf cart this has happened to me at least three times already And if he has a reservation and somebody comes before you and the walk up they get to go before you so I don't understand that as well
My practice course
Brentwood is a classic. If you want to sharpen your game, go to Brentwood. A beginners course to help improve your game.
Fun course to play
Greens are in good shape and the ball rolls well. Everything else, especially fairways, is in rough shape right now. Overall still a fun track!
Need to work on the overbooking problem
They don't have a bunch of carts there that are usable but they overbook this is the second or third time that I've been there that I've had to sit and wait for a cart after my tee time also it's like one of the staff members was friends with a person today when I played and they got a cart with their friends before me and it was three guys with two bags so two guys were sharing a bag of clubs they were nice and let me go ahead of them I like going there but the overbooking problem needs to be fixed or get more carts part of the problem is cause they don't have enough carts
