The First Tee of North Florida - Brentwood Golf Course

I go to Brentwood pretty often as it’s a good value in an expensive sport. Greens could always be better but you get what you pay for so nothing to complain on with that. The man at the front desk was not friendly at all. My tee time was at 12:00. Showed up at 11:45 and he said to come back closer to my time which I understand. So I come back at 12 and he says greens need to finish aerating and he’ll grab me when they’re done. We waited over an hour and around 1:15 my wife goes in and asks if they’re done and he goes “are you guys ready??”. Turns out we were sitting out there waiting for over an hour when apparently they were ready and he decided not to grab us. Bad experience.

Never any carts, no starter, range is closed frequently. Don’t even make a tee time, just walk on and play. The staff don’t care about anything

Great little course to practice on. A couple of the holes will test your ability to move the ball😉😉

I really enjoy playing this course. Layout is friendly and there’s plenty of challenge for a short course. Greens are in good shape. Fairways are fine for lift, clean and place. Wish there were drinking water on the course. Pace of play has been good. Can get a little tricky with a 9 hole course but overall it’s solid

You will constantly show up for your already paid tee time at 750 and there will be no carts available. They’ll try to get you to ride on a cart with a stranger and he doesn’t even want you to ride. The workers not the friendliest. The almost baldish girl that gathers the carts will cuss at you and run you off. Very unprofessional. They should all be fired and get new people in the pro shop. But back to the course it’s in good shape and greens are good to go.

Short course, par 68. It was my first time playing golf in Jacksonville and just what I needed to knock some rust off; short, fairly forgiving course. Plenty of grass and the greens rolled fine. For the value it was a great round; will definitely be back!

Had a 7:30 Tee time and arrived at 7:15, which the shop woman had not shown up yet. There was a line of people who had earlier tee times that were not happy. The shop woman finally showed up, which caused a long line of us waiting to play, so pace of play was much slower than it should have been, which we ended up playing 14 holes; we got tired of waiting. Course was in good condition though.

Been here twice and each time I have booked a tee time I have teed of 40+min late due to a lack of carts. That is absurd. I have seen first hand why they don’t have carts as well. There is no starter or anyone managing who gets carts. The person who seems like they are supposed to be managing that can be found hitting on the range and walking over occasionally to let you know you can tee off once a cart is free and then walks back to hitting. I have seen people not golfing take a cart and ride around with a group that is golfing and I also saw 2 guy golfing together each grab their own cart and 2 holes later I see them using the carts to joust each other with their clubs. This could easily be managed with a starter and someone to manage pace of play which by the way is horrible here. Course is in decent shape but when you have to deal with everything that comes along with playing here it just isn’t worth it. Spend your money and time elsewhere.

They have been much better about trying to save Carts for people with tee times. Pace of play is still hit or miss, and the layout is still my favorite in Jax.

9 holes, so 18 is playing the same 9 holes twice. Cant beat the price though. Course conditions continuing to look better and better despite the summer heat rolling in hard already.

They allowed a five some on the course that was awful, and clogged up the course. Had 3 separate groups on a par 3 waiting behind them. Good luck getting a cart on weekends, even with a tee time you have to wait.

Walmart of Golf, no ranger so if pace of play is bad, deal with it lol

Love the course, but so often they are out of carts, and the wait time is an hour + / unknown. City of Jax can do better.

Favorite layout in town, not just flat and straight like Blue Cypress. Price is great, and course is slowly but surely looking better and better

Two weeks in a row the course was out of carts at 830. Waited forty five minutes for an employee to finally give me his cart he was riding around in. I like the course. It’s cheap. But this is unacceptable.

They have a remarkable job with the greens an tee-boxes. The fairways are also Improving, although have some ways to go. Keep it up.

Maybe little over priced due to Hyde Park and Bent Creek older and more nicer course are about $10 difference more just a further drive. Would like rate round $20 or so. For value and time spent here.

The heavens opened up and let it rip we got to the 5th T and couldn’t take it anymore on the way back the Tree at the first hole was snapped at the base. They wouldn’t let us come back when the storm was over and they wouldn’t give us a rain check
